I hope you are right, but I would have thought he would have no chance of being the superintendent until he won easily.
I have some friends who are lobbyists and we talk about this when we get together for beers on Thursdays. Walters is not a popular person at the capital. Now the Trump Administration doesn’t seem to have an interest in him. I just wish he wasn’t an OSU grad.
Walters may not be popular at the capitol, but he seems popular with the voters. Interesting how Democrat senate candidates for state legislature said Walters was one of the top topics that came up when they went door to door. Yet they lost by a large margin. At any rate I suspect Walters is popular in the rural counties and only strong turnout in the metros against him can beat him.
no democrat will win governor or senator or House seat anytime soon, as Rep registered voters outnumber Dems 2-1; however, Horn did poorly because of gerrymandering of district 5...in 2020 it was 52.1% (R) - 47.9%(D) in district 5 and in 2018 Horn (D) won 50.7%(D) - 49.3%(R)...enter the gerrymandering of district 5 and since then it has been 59%(R) - 37.4%(D) in 2022 and 60.7%(R) -39.3%(D) in 2024...things were too close in district 5...
I live in district 5. Used to drive three blocks to vote(they’re still voting at that location) now we have to drive to a Harrah church. Choctaw is voting on a one cent sales tax increase and we vote in another town. There’s little to no accountability with one party in charge. Six mile drive for the crime of voting Democratic.
Wonder if wannabe Trump has developed additional curriculum and mandated including the Tulsa race riots in Oklahoma history classrooms? Doubt it, that would require actual work. He believes in his hypocritical little heart that these minor, kiss ass moves, will win him the Governorship.
Such an outrageous statement gives Oklahoma a bad look to potential new business and industry. It implies state government can't control terrorists. I take it as a sign that Walters is insecure with his beliefs, so he goes to extreme statements to defend them. And that Walters is an even worse crazy extremist than Stitt.

He's definitely aiming to be OSU president. I can't think of any other reason he would after all these years act like a reasonable person on education, at least against Walters' nonsense. The faculty would revolt if he was appointed as a Walters sidekick.
