The Bartlesville school district said in a statement that a staff member who was at Wayside Elementary School on Monday is confirmed to have the measles.

The statement said custodians have already completed deep cleaning surfaces and are working to re-treat all impacted areas.

Statement from BPS:

"On March 4, 2025, a staff member who had been at Wayside Elementary School the previous day was confirmed to have the measles. The custodians at Wayside have completed a deep cleaning of surfaces and are continuing to re-treat as many areas as possible. However, measles is airborne and extremely infectious.
Most people in the United States have a low risk for contracting measles due to an effective vaccine. The link below provides information on symptoms, infection, vaccination, etc."

"It's time to give a voice on the Board of Education to parents and students all across Oklahoma" - This was actually a smart statement to include since Walters is always ranting about letting parents have a say in their kids education.

Senate subcommittee nixes Ryan Walters' $3 million ask for Bibles in budget recommendation

The Senate Education Appropriations subcommittee presented its budget recommendation for the Oklahoma State Department of Education Wednesday, which nixed a $3 million request by the agency to place Bibles in classrooms.

In January, Walters presented his agency's proposed budget to the subcommittee, which included $3 million to place Bibles in classrooms.

The request was not considered by the subcommittee, said its chairman, Sen. Adam Pugh, R-Edmond, Wednesday during the Senate Appropriations committee meeting.

OSDE plans to distribute Bibles to every US government AP class in Oklahoma

The subcommittee's budget recommendation came as the state education agency announced Wednesday that it's distributing Bibles to every Advanced Placement U.S. Government classroom across Oklahoma.

Walters announced in November 2024 that the agency purchased more than 500 Bibles for AP U.S. Government classrooms.

In late January, Rep. Jacob Rosecrants, R-Norman, asked the superintendent whether the Bibles had been disbursed to classrooms. At the time, Walters said his agency was working on it.

"Students need to understand the foundation of American History," Walters said in a news release Wednesday. "That's the Bible, the Constitution, and The Declaration of Independence."

Gov. Stitt echoes lawmakers that the state should utilize free Bible apps instead of buying Bibles

Shortly after Walters' announcement, Gov. Kevin Stitt was asked during his weekly news conference about his thoughts regarding state funding being allocated toward placing Bibles in classrooms.

"That's why I believe in school choice," Stitt said. "We love Christian schools and Catholic schools, and that's why we passed the first ever religious charter school."

The governor said he's heard arguments against Walters' $3 million proposal that question the education department's refusal to consider free Bible apps. He mentioned the YouVersion Bible App created by popular Oklahoman Bobby Gruenewald.

"I'm sure most kids have the Bible App on their phone," Stitt said.

The superintendent's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The subcommittee also left out a $500,000 request for firearms safety training to allow teachers to carry firearms in classrooms along with a $1 million request to fund the recruitment and credentialing of retired law enforcement and military veterans to become educators.

OSCN has released the results of Ryan Walters' appeal concerning his divorce. He shamefully lost big time. What the court found against Walters was just jawbreakingly shocking. For instances:

The first time was maybe a year or two after we got married, and we were having a disagreement about something in our bedroom. I don't remember what it was. And he was kind of lying down kind of propped up on the bed, and he was--he had been yelling at me and was saying cruel things to me, as (sic) being very demeaning towards me.
And I walked closer to the edge of the bed, and I was trying to explain to him. You know, I can't remember what it was, but I was like, "That's not what I said or that's not what I did. Let's just, you know, talk about this." And he suddenly, without warning, reached over the bed and kicked me in the stomach and the kidneys backwards. And I started crying and immediately left the house . . . .
And then this:

The evidence that Ryan takes issue with is his visit to the Ku Klux Klan headquarters in Arkansas, his purchase of memorabilia there, and numerous speeding tickets, all of which the district court cites in her ruling as "display[ing] reckless behavior.

That is worse than I expected.

Good I hope she leaves him penniless.

It's not like she didn't try. The lesson here is if you marry an attorney don't be a POS. Well don't be a POS in the first place but especially if your significant other can make your life comically bad if she wants to.

But he was an abuser who is now the most hated educator in the state through his own doing so he gets what he gets.

With the findings of that court report, Ryan Walters should be finished with politics and will easily lose if he runs for re-election or any other election. But, sorry, I can't guarantee that since a sorry character like Trump got reelected president.
Are we sure this is the Board of Education Ryan Walters and not some other guy with the same name?

And if sure, how?

Everything I'm seeing indicates he is still married and all that talk about evaluation of RJRK, LLC (which I've never seen mentioned in his biographies) in the opinion doesn't make much sense.

Also, the Ct. Civ. App. opinion mentions multiple speeding tickets for Ryan Walters and if you go on OSCN.net, there are a lot of ticket cases for the same Ryan Todd Walters that indicate his birth year is 1991 while "our" Ryan Walters was born in 1985 according to Wikipedia.

Interesting comment that needs further investigation. The lead picture on his FB page shows him pictured with his family. It shows 3 children. As I seem to recall the court report only mentioned two children.

Also interesting was what was in the speech that Walters gave to the City Elders. He warned them that with the help of Satan that even Red States will turn against Trump.

Ryan Walters is priming supporters to reject any court or state that defies Trump.

Ryan Walters warns religious group that red states will turn against Trump

Speaking at a dinner event hosted by a group seeking to install a Christian government, State Superintendent Ryan Walters warned the road ahead may be rocky for Republicans.

Walters told a gathering hosted by the City Elders in Glenpool that the country is in the midst of a spiritual war and that Satan is working through “the enemy.”

“You’re gonna see these federal judges come in and slap President Trump down. You’re gonna see bureaucrats fight back. You’re gonna see states that aren’t gonna back up what President Trump does. Unfortunately you’re gonna see that with red states. I hate to say it but you know it’s coming. We’re already seeing it, aren’t we? Red states are not backing up Trump,” said Walters.

Walters didn’t go so far as to cite Oklahoma — where all 77 counties voted for Trump — as a state turning against Trump, but last month he accused Gov. Kevin Stitt of joining the “swampy political establishment that President Trump is fighting against” after Stitt replaced some education board members sympathetic to Walters’ goals.

As an anecdote to the coming oppression, Walters invoked the biblical story of David and Goliath, telling the crowd that they have many “stones” to fight back.

“With God on our side, there is no enemy that can’t be defeated.”

Throughout the rest of his speech, Walters invoked familiar talking points about the need for patriotism and Bibles in schools. Notably absent was any mention of tracking undocumented immigrant children, the issue that ostensibly began his feud with Stitt.

More than notable was a group of furious protestors whose presence was a constant topic of conversation within the City Elders gathering. About 80 demonstrators confronted the approximately 200 event attendees as “Nazis” as they entered the Glenpool Conference Center around 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
