OSU vs Texas Tech Game Thread

I think the donors and fans just want to see a competitive football team next year. That is easily doable with the transfer portal. Hopefully, the new coach brings their QB with them. I think whoever we bring in needs to bring a QB with them that fits their system. We then become bowl eligible year two and compete for the conference title year three or four.

Well you do have some points:

Less pressure - Absolutely
Easier path to playoff - do not agree at all
Better town - if you like Disney and rain every afternoon - yes. More expressive beer, housing and meals out of the program, and humidity that messes with you girlfriend's hair and maybe yours, no...;)
Better recruiting grounds - yes, does that matter anymore now that these blokes are play for pay pros? Also, their stadium, new soon, 35K capacity.
Better current program trajectory - pretty arbitrarily, data points, SOS, injuries, etc., Push at best - arbitrarily answer...
I understand your frustrations, however, sometimes we actually have to look to the future and have open but expectant eyes. Did Mike eat so much of his my "system works and we can fix this" - 100%. Can we rebound - hell yes. it's like Chad said - this is not the oSu of the 1980's.
I'm more worried about our Athletic Department and BOR makeup. The Athletic Department needs to adopt the SEC - AKA uo model asap.. It was printed in the Daily OUlahoman this last week. We have one dude doing most agent dealings and they have an entire department of experienced professionals doing "the deals" before recruits come on their campus. Mike wanted this control and I think this is one of the main items that sunk his boat. The BOR can do their own implosion.
We are at bottom but I still believe This:

The quote about rising like a phoenix

From ashes we rise — every fall is just a silent prelude to our powerful comeback. Like a phoenix, oSu is meant to burn bright and be reborn stronger.
Just a minor correction, appears you are referencing Orlando in your “Better town” comment. USF in in Tampa Bay, UCF is in Orlando

Yep. In football these days, the QB is pretty much everything. When's the last time we saw a running back carry a team the way it did in past decades? Maybe Scattebo. It would be nice if Hauss Cartwright was back next year, but there's no certainty there. (Honestly, I don't think he should burn his redshirt to play this year in a season that's pretty much over.) Development might be our best hope, like we did with Zac and Weeden. There are coaches who've had great success taking raw talent and developing quarterbacks at the college level. Maybe with a new coach, we can do that. I didn't see a lot of development in the QBs we've seen this year.

Hes only played in one game and we don't have to worry about a bowl. He could play the last 3 games of the season without losing eligibility.

He already redshirted last year? He’s a RSFR. He would have to get a medical redshirt and then would it be negated by playing again before the season is over? I’m not clear on the rules

This is another reason why I think we are moving to a 20-24 team football only league.

Boosters and college admin are going to tire/run out of money by paying players and fired coach buyouts. Players will see a coach getting $50MM to sit while they bust their butts and share $20MM.

Player payrolls will go up causing rosters to shrink. QBs will be the highest paid and coaches will resort to an NFL style QB play. Can’t afford to get a QB hit running a zone read.

I think it’s actually a good thing for schools like us. There will be more good players available as rosters above us shrink to 70-80 players.
