OSU at Iowa State

This is where Kenny's laid back nature sometimes doesn't translate with 18-24 year old young women who need a kick in the a$$ and with just about every hitter trending downward against not the best competition you have to wonder about Shippy's ability to get them to make adjustments.
Who knows, could be this is what the team needs and is somewhat by design. See, ladies? Not invincible. Quit F-ing around or you'll keep getting beat.

Cowgirls only had two AB's with RISP.

Bloodworth had a flyout with 2 on and 2 out, and Wang grounded out with 2 on and 2 out.
And that's it.
Nobody else reached second. They didn't draw one free pass, whereas Lexi gave 5.

This team shouldn't need that after barely beating Tulsa, getting shut out by Tulsa, barely beating North Texas, and losing to BYU....none of those teams in the RPI top 50

I may be way off base here, but I still a big part of our problem is the lack of experience on the coaching staff. Eberle and Shippy-Fletcher were great players and will probably be great coaches, but I am not sure either has much experience helping players through slumps (Adcock) or helping young players adjust to the college game.

I think there's something to that, BUT, this is almost a yearly occurrence even when we have more experience.

We just got shutout by a freshman pitcher with an over 5 ERA. Just a flat out pathetic showing by the cowgirls today. This team inability to lock in at times is what makes me worried for postseason

I think you pointed out the issue, they are young and don’t lock in on bad teams

Like was said above, hopefully this will be the final kick in the butt they need to be a team that is focused for every game.

And it shouldn't have mattered, but Edwards being out hurts more than I thought it would. I think she brings a lot of that intensity that was missing.

Godwin soft line out to RF. It was a 2-1 pitch and it was borderline ball 3. Just getting themselves out over and over
McDonald walks. First walk drawn by OSU in the series.
Wark soft pop up drops, but McDonald out at 2nd. Yet another pop up
Lott grounds out to 3B

More awesome at bats from the Cowgirls
