I agree. But the lack of focus is inexcusable. That was a tough series mainly bc of unforced mental lapses, Baylor making some really good plays and some really unlucky breaks.
I think he found his batting order. Get some of those hard hit balls to start finding space and this team has the ability. Baylor got real lucky and then we’d either compound w a mental mistake or Baylor would make an unreal play. That’s the only reason this series was 2-1.
You could be right, but I still feel like this team has at least top 10 potential.I really don’t think Kenny G found his batting order. He’s still scuffling people up and down. Baylor isn’t a good team. I think what people are starting to find out is this team isn’t as good at their preseason ranking as well as the hype they got.
Doesn’t mean we terrible either, but we’re more like a top 25 team than a top 5 club.
It’s not having that pitcher that looks at you likeYou could be right, but I still feel like this team has at least top 10 potential.
Honestly I think they are a little immature. Not immature like bad people, but immature about understanding what it takes to be great. It's not a really young team, no freshmen play, just sophomores and above, so that's not really an excuse. But there's just something missing in the day to day approach.
Ehh if we had two pitchers maybe I could see it. We have one bona fide pitcher and we can only hope Kutz is throwing strikes. Aycock can’t throw strikes and Crandel has been shut down due to injury. You could be right, but I still feel like this team has at least top 10 potential.

It's definitely a concern. Last year once Rosenberry got hurt, they still found a way. It got to Kilfoyl in OKC though.Ehh if we had two pitchers maybe I could see it. Maybe they figure it out late but this team won’t go far if we can’t figure out the pitching. Eventually Meylan will tire out if she can’t get help. It’s what happened to her at Washington
Rosenberry was consistent up until that point…not even remotely close to the scenario we’re in now. We don’t have a consistent #2 currently. Kutz had a nice outing today but yesterday got rocked. It’s why Aycock being a non factor was okay. Part of the reason we got to OKC was a favorable seed and Arkansas wetting the bed in their own regional and getting to play a young Arizona team that lacked pitching. It's definitely a concern. The best way to help Meylan and Kutz is to give them some run support! Maybe if they could pitch with some early leads they wouldn't feel the stress of being perfect. Kutz was awesome today but it didn't feel like it because when she left it was 1-1. If it's 5-1 she doesn't have to leave and is feeling great and maybe Meylan isn't needed.
Have to agree to disagree on that.Rosenberry was consistent up until that point…not even remotely close to the scenario we’re in now. We don’t have a consistent #2 currently. Ruby going to be stressed regardless because there’s a chance she’ll have to pitch every game. Yes scoring runs will help..everyone knows that. What will really help is another arm emerging so she can take a night off. You can have a 5-1 lead and blow it with the current pitchers not named Meylan. The offense is struggling but it’s good enough. The pitching is way more of a concern than the hitting IMO.
I think he might wish he had not scheduled this week's games. Just finished a tough weekend series and now have to head across the country to face even more tough competition.Part of the mental mistakes are on the base path and not being patient in the box.
Would have been interesting to see yesterday if SS or LF makes that catch in the 5th to get the 1st out what happens to Katie in the circle and how long he would have stuck w her. That should have been at least a 2-0 game going into the 5th.
Long term I wonder if Kenny will rethink his scheduling process. A softer schedule would allow to develop confidence in young arms and give him more opportunity to slide up and down the batting order.
On the flip side a softer schedule probably doesn’t result in a win yesterday.
One thing I know it’s fun to discuss these things but Kenny is way ahead of me on these things.
This is where I’d like to listen to the coaching staff. We have been aggressive on the bases. This weekend the Baylor catcher was on fire w her throws to second. And the receiver was just as good w the timing and placement of the tag. Keep those runners and be more patient at the plate to see if we can draw walks or better pitches. Put pressure on Baylor to make plays in leveraged situations. A few times they did as we hammered pitches but right at a position player. But numbers tell you that won’t make all of them and just one or two could have blown games open.Have to agree to disagree on that.
The offense isn't near good enough. In 2 of the 3 games they scored a total of 1 earned run against Baylor and a very average pitcher. Got shutout by Tech's #2 pitcher. I think they CAN be good enough like we've seen at times.
We are last in the league in walks drawn, 9th of 11 in runs batted in, as well as 10th in extra base hits.
Good enough in terms of being clutch. I won’t say the offense has been good consistently but they’ve done just enough to win games…for now. The stats are what they are.Have to agree to disagree on that.

Hopefully Kutz and the offense will come around soon.Good enough in terms of being clutch. I won’t say the offense has been good consistently but they’ve done just enough to win games…for now. The stats are what they are.
I have more faith in the hitting than the pitching. Ruby will tire at some point…Kutz has a nearly a 3 ERA and has 35 walks in 50 innings pitched. That’s not going to cut it all. Aycock has more walks than innings pitched go with a 4.80 ERA. Crandall is likely to redshirt, the staff is still debating due to injury.
Right now I have more faith in the hitting despite how inconsistent it is. I’m not confident that ruby can single handily carry this team to OKC. She needs help IMO. Without it…this team will struggle in the postseason badly
