When it comes down to it I say to hell with what the "fundamentals" of baseball or unwritten rules of the game say. The player that only had to drift 5 feet to make an inning ending play didn't, and now we're gonna lose the game. CATCH THE DAMN BALL OR DONT BE ON THE FIELD.
