He wasn't good at Arkansas I don't know how Josh thought it would be any different here.Jayson Jones is not good and shouldn’t be playing.
What is weird, is I've heard several stories from guys who would have been there that Josh often belittles players in front of the team, and it pisses some people off--but none of that leads to any visible accountability or fear of losing their spot.Doesn’t look like that Winthrop loss did much to motivate the Cowboys. They are too comfortable, their coach needs to coach them.
At this rate they may not be above .500 when conference play begins. And, by the way the first conference opponent is WVU (head coach Steve Sabins, does that name sound familiar?) who just happens to be undefeated at the moment. They haven’t played anyone but OSU just lost back to back home games to Winthrop and Illinois State.
Good, so he’s ready to start worrying about W’s and L’s now?"We have to get better and in a hurry."
But that might hurt someone’s feelings. Can’t sustain offense. Yea because you have Jones as clean up and he’s terrible. Then you have Thompson late in the lineup. Anymore I hope those guys just strike out and don’t ground into double plays.
Put Ritchie at third and Conover in CF.
I googled coach speak and found a picture of Josh which about sums him up perfectly."not an ideal start"
"we fought back, they answered"
"they played better than their record"
"the beat us and we have to own that"
"there's some things that we're not able to do yet as far as sustaining offense"
"I'm not down on the kids, and I don't really know what good that would do anyway.|
"Gabe has no settled into to a Friday night role yet, locating his pitches"
"Im embarrassed and frutrated and angry, but you have to turn that into a positive."
"We have to get better and in a hurry."
