High school football insanity.

Sports are out of control. This is disgusting to watch. Money will talk and players will walk. I have always wondered say a team in OK is 2-4 and not going to make the playoffs, if players move I think they have to sit maybe 3 games, so what if half a team decides to move to a contending playoff team? Anything to stop that?

This raised my curiosity, and had to look up if Oklahoma had something similar. I didn't know Oklahoma had a school open-transfer policy now. I couldn't find a date when that started. Does anybody know when that took effect?

Nvm, found it. AI is wonderful and creepy.

It’s been going about four years and gets more open every year. Athletics will be fully open in two year

Don’t know for sure as I havent been involved in HS sports for over a decade now. My guess is that the OSSAA & the like have had this forced upon them by the courts-just like the NCAA.

I agree though, pretty sad to see this happening.

It’s one of the prime reasons I’ve leaned into pro sports so much more. They at least have a structure and enforcement. Hell, the worst team in the NFL is so much closer to the best team. Whereas in college, the best teams are building a structure intent on widening that gap as much as possible. It’s the antithesis of competition.

It’s insane to me that there’s not even discussion about a school having to compensate another school when they take a player away.

I like high school sports and donate a significant amount of my money to high school sports. It makes me feel good when we win and someone else loses. I walk taller and more confidently and no one makes fun of my cowboy hat, handlebar mustache and the spurs on my cowboy boots.

There's nothing that makes me feel like less of a man than when someone points at the toilet paper hanging off a spur and makes fun of me to my face.
