Heritage Foundation Project 2025

Great breakdown and video of the facts of project 2025

Project 2025 has produced a 900-page handbook that outlines policies for the next administration if Trump is elected. It proposes eliminating the Head Start program, installing an anti-abortion task force to replace President Biden's reproductive health care one, dismantling the FBI, eliminating the Department of Education, and eliminating the Department of Commerce

Steve Bannon: Project 2025 is the deconstruction of the US government. Millions of MAGA loyalists are getting trained up to take over the federal government

Isn't he supposed to be in jail or am I thinking of a different Trump cultist.

If nothing is done SS benefits get cut soon. That absolutely should not happen.

Actions on shoring up SS should have been enacted sooner. But just like inaction over the soaring national debt, our elected officials are too consumed with power and re-election. We’ve raised the retirement age more than 10 times in the past, but haven’t raised it in over 60 years. During that time life expectancy has increased ~+10 years. Raising the age is a viable solution and should be considered.

The life expectancy in the US is 77 and 72 in Oklahoma

Steve Bannon: Here's what's going to happen in another Trump administration. A whole big part of Trump's Project 2025 is going into the apparatus, into the post-Constitutional leviathan, and starting to take apart the administrative state brick by brick. I have 900 pages right here and this is just Project 2025

Project 2025 will rob veterans and active duty troops of billions in benefits

A chapter in the massive, 920-page Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise released by the heritage Foundation details cost-cutting measures and other proposed changes to the Veterans Administration, including the replacement of its leaders and decision makers with political appointees.

Brooks D. Tucker, who served as chief of staff for Trump’s second VA secretary Robert Wilkie, wrote the chapter on VA reforms with the assistance of Darin Selnick, who called for dismantling the agency when serving on a presidential commission in 2016 and worked for the Koch brothers-funded Concerned Veterans for America (CVA).

Searchable database for Project 2025 policy recommendations.

Among other recommendations, the plan proposes eliminating concurrent eligibility for both service-related disability benefits and military retirement benefits, which Tucker says would reduce mandatory outlays by at least $160 billion through 2032, and revising the disability rating awards that determine eligibility for benefits and determine monthly disability compensation to reap "significant cost savings."

The plan also proposes to end enrollment in VA medical care for veterans in two low-priority groups to save an estimated $69 billion through 2032 and narrow eligibility for veterans disability by excluding disabilities that cannot be related to military service, which would save an estimated $37.6 billion during that same period.

Tucker recommends the expansion of Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) rather that maintaining or upgrading "obsolete" or "unaffordable" VA health care campuses that currently provide inpatient services, emergency care and other health services in one location.

Project 2025 also calls for privatizing the Department of Defense’s current TRICARE system offered to military families, which Tucker claims would provide higher quality care and result in $60 billion in savings, and require married service members to share a housing allowance and document their housing expenditures.

“Servicemembers are not entitled to — and should not be able to — retain 'extra compensation' from money above what they pay for housing," Tucker wrote.

What about places where BAH doesn't cover full cost of housing for your family, do you get more then? I was in a location where the range of BAH calculation was driven down due to surrounding area, but those were places NO ONE wanted to live because they were essentially ghost towns.

Trump wrote, "I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they're saying and some the things they're saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them."

It would have helped a lot more if Trump left out the "I wish them luck..." Or maybe some cynics would say it's code for, “Stand back and stand by.” Anyway, hopefully, he hurt the feelings of the zealots at Project 2025 and Heritage. But then there is this from 2018: https://www.heritage.org/impact/tru...es-heritage-foundation-policy-recommendations

I'm of the mind that this is Trump lying to try to separate publicly since it's getting more reporting in the media. He probably knows it's enough to strongly hurt his chances. I feel like it aligns too closely to how he's talked for him to truely disagree with it or ignore it once in office.

It has a large number of sections written by his former officials and current supporters. Its a bold faced lie.

The Heritage Foundation and its president, Kevin Roberts, are facing blowback in the wake of his comment about an ongoing second American revolution that will “remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”
