Head coaching search survey results

RT with comments to the CEO of athletics at USF, insinuating that he’s not going anywhere. So the way I see it, if he jumped ship after stuff like that it comes across very shady. There’s better ways to handle it. I think he’s a great coach but it comes across a lot like Miles if he does it.
It comes across to me like a desperate AD calling his coach into the office to demand he stays and Golesh wanting to go on his own terms

It is shady, when Golesh says I’m leaving the AD is going to whine “but we had a deal”
I am not sure what we should expect an active coach to say during the season. They are in an impossible position. If they say no comment then that fules the specualtion they are gone with possible consequences to their season and the players on the team. If they say they have not had any contact like Golesh has then if he does leave he is shady, dishonest etc. Using search firms to vet/interview for you gives both the recruiting univeristy and the coach to both technically be truthful in saying they have not talked. It is not ideal, but seems to be the best option in a bad situation.

Bottom line, I would not hold it against Golesh and would not think he is shady/dishonest as he is managing a no win situation.

You continually say and answer those questions with “I’m completely focused on our next opponent. That’s all that matters right now. We’re trying to go out and win another game. I’m not discussing anything other than USF football and our next opponent.”

It's not an impossible situation. You act like a professional at all times. "I'm not going to get into that right now." "I am honored to be the coach of X University." "I'm focused on this team and winning the conference title." "Being considered for other positions is a testimony to the team's efforts." That kind of stuff.

Edit: Great minds think alike.

He would be my pick since it sounds like Golesh is off the table. I am ok with Klein too, but a little less enthused.

I do not want Wommack. At all.
Agree completely.

Honestly, I would be shocked if Morris didn’t pan out for us if he gets the job. He seems like a great fit all around (explosive offense, young skill players who can follow him, good track record with QB’s, younger with energy, recruiting ties to Texas, etc.) the list goes on and on. Checks so many boxes.

Boom!!

North Texas will do what it can to keep Morris:

A collection of the most influential figures in North Texas athletics crowded into a swanky restaurant a little more than a month ago.

UNT was well into one of the best seasons in program history back on Oct. 20 and athletic director Jared Mosley wanted to talk about an issue that loomed on the horizon.

If Chad is settling in on Morris, there might be a wait. If UNT wins the American Conference championship, there is a chance they'll go the 12-team playoff. I think I read it right that they will go if they win the conference title and if they are one of the five highest rated conference champions. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah. Its the 5 highest rated conference champions and the ACC is sucking ass so we might see 2 non P4 teams in.

If we can’t financially bully north Texas then we are not the program I thought we were
