Funny Political Memes

This is a great starting point for a conversation. Let’s just use round numbers. And feel free to change any of the assumptions. I just did quick google searches.

To start full employment in the US is 141,000,000.

We sit at 4.2% unemployment or roughly 6,000,000 “open jobs. And let’s assume that in that 6,000,000 (which is rounded up) includes many of the laid off Federal workers. So w the announcement that Elon is about done can we assume those workers are already in the 6,000,000 of unemployed pool? But the lowest unemployment rate in US history is 2.5% or 3,500,000 jobs at today’s 141,000,000 full employment.

If we deport 10,000,000 workers (assumes about half of the deportations are working), we have a total of 16,000,000 jobs to fill.

There are 41,000,000 Americans age 60-69. Let’s assume they move the retirement age up form 62/65 to 67/69 and that 41MM is distributed evenly between each of the 10 yrs or 4,000,000 per yr.

And there are 11,000,000 age 14-17 (included bc many states are passing laws doing away w restrictions such as overnight shift work for age 14 & up).

So we will have 16,000,000 jobs before manufacturing hits the US shore.

We have a pool of workers age 60-69 that is probably somewhere around 25,000,000 at 50% retiree’s staying employed and 12,500,000 at 25% delay.

Another pool age 14-17 that is probably around 2,500,000.

Add in the 2,500,000 currently unemployed who would be available for jobs if the US matched its lowest unemployment rate.

In total that would be somewhere around 15,000,000 to 20,000,000 additional bodies for 16,000,000 jobs before manufacturing gets here.

All these numbers also do not take into account that many workers do not have the health to do the jobs that will be open.

The older workers obviously aren't.
The middle aged workers aren't.
Even many of the teens would require quite a bit of work/exercise to get there.

Yeah. What insane things have I justified?
Please be specific.

He's making fun of the libs by defending something that should be (probably is) seriously illegal.
I've known @Rob B. for a long time.

I'm not convinced that is what he is doing because he doesn't think in straight lines all the time (NTTAWWT).

I predict he'll choose not to clarify himself. He likes being an international man of mystery.

I'll be happy to clarify, I'm making fun of the ridiculousness of both sides. Defending none of the insanity.

Trump is off the rails in his attempt to do everything he campaigned for.

The left is off the rails being pro-China on tariffs and pro-Ukraine on the war. Meanwhile China is literally footing the bill on the war against Ukraine.
Both sides are in a feeding frenzy of eating their own.

Please show an example of any promement figure on the left being "pro china". Most of the criticism I have seen of this fiasco is that it *helps* china, not the american people.

Not really sure why anyone would be pro China. I probably should have said this before now because its gonna look like Im just saying it now, but if we're going to screw with China I'm fine with that. When Trump talks about unfair trade practices, for most of the world it's bs but for China it isn't. If we wants to strongarm them I have no problem with it.

You alleging that the left is being "pro-China" on tariffs seems a bit insane to me. You're going have to prove that isn't a fiction of your imagination. Pointing out how 120%+ tariffs are going to seriously and negatively affect American consumers isn't being "pro-China".

I'm not sure being "pro-Ukraine" should be considered insane. I would consider Trump's/MAGA's position and conduct so far regarding Ukraine ato largely be "pro-Russia". Which is the insane position in my book.

Agree to disagree, I guess.

Or....you know.... Manufacturing jobs get filled and the lower paying jobs struggle until they start paying. A people deficit is a good thing for the people.

Also, our 17-year-olds really need to consider Trade School and not college. Trade School kids that are going to out earn the 4 plus year college educated....in many cases they already are. I've spoke to several high school classes about this.

The talking heads and the Dems in Congress are being pro-China toward tariffs(it's anti-Trump, so they have to). Being pro-Ukraine isn't insane at all. IMO. It's being both that I'm talking about.

Also, its pretty easy to both sides a situation when there is a completely fake position getting assigned to one of the sides to cause a false equivalency.

As in, it only exists on fox news and the memeverse as a "left" position.

So you are mad because politicians are doing political things?
