Fire NARDO!!!

I don't know what that means. Has Nardo been put on secret probation, quietly fired already? Are we already interviewing replacements? Has Gundy told him that he likes the schemes but we need to do better?

What does it Mean!?!? Haha
Hell Gundy's publicly stated several times that he didn't like our schemes. Then to be able to say the same thing 1-2 weeks later appears that we in fact do not need to do better, as he doesn't like the schemes again.
I'd have more patience if we could see something where there at least appeared to be some attempt to change something. Just keep taking those Ls and we'll keep status quo until (hopefully) after we run out of games.

Wonder what it would look like if we ran a 3 down odd front like we brought him here to do?

Defense is not rocket science. 3-3-5 is not enough men in the box to stop the run unless we have superior athletes. It simply will not work. I'd rather return to a 3-4 and for the love of God quit playing loose man coverage in the secondary. How many years do we have to see us play 8 yards off a WR and give up a 7 yard first down? You rarely ever see any SEC team play this loose garbage... it does not work

How can D1 players practice all year and be this bad on defense? Nardo brings out the worst in them. The entire defensive staff needs a reset.

I can’t blame Gundy for the Smith situation. He just started to get reps about a month ago. Only so many reps to go around in a practice. What I do blame Gundy for is not pulling the plug on Bowman for Rangel earlier in the season. It’s obvious that Rangel was the better option, just needed the starting reps and a few scheme changes (like the BYU game). That one is on him.

I blame Gundy for everything. He is the head coach. He makes 8 million dollars a year to coach a game. He is too arrogant and too lazy to even pretend to care. Ultimately everything is his responsibility.

Is there anybody on the defense we feel good about for next year? I believe the answer is no. The portal will be critical because the defense needs a total overhaul starting with all the defensive coaches.

It would be interesting to hear from some of the outgoing defensive guys after the season ends of what actually went on with the defensive side, their thoughts on Nardo and the staff. Can’t imagine there’s any way those guys were confident in the game plans each week. There’s been some indications that the defensive staff is dysfunctional, and not rowing the same direction. That would be an interesting podcast listen.
