The beliefs of MAGA are very much opposed to the teachings of Jesus. At this point they really just use the bible for its cover while completely ignoring the words inside.

If at an absolute minimum this church does lose its legal status as a tax-free entity our government sucks.
Let a Muslim leader stand in a mosque in the US and say to his flock that it is time for Christians to get the death penalty and see what happens.
I know I’ve posted before that 2 of my best friends are pastors of 500+ member churches. One close to 850.
They are not MAGA not even close but vote R bc of 1 single issue.
They are convinced that a D POTUS will restrict what they preach using the IRS as the hammer.
I’m convinced we are closer to that under MAGA rule than ever before. I can see a church advocating for immigrants or even being a sanctuary and getting punished by this admin. There is nothing Way like about them.

I agree. Normal politicians aren't going to go after churches because that's a terrible idea politically (and illegal). That's not a partisan thing, its just being norms and having an ounce of common sense.
MAGA doesn't know what a terrible idea is and just kinda does what it wants. The already had the IRS tell churches political endorsements were ok. Its not a stretch for them to pull it back and say certain political speech from the pulpit is OK but not if it goes against the greater good.
In the 60s when churches were leading civil rights marches they expected to be arrested and prosecuted. In fact, being arrested and prosecuted was part of what helped to change the law. If you believe the law to be unjust you should be willing to be arrested and prosecuted for opposing it.
When right wing ideologues vandalize or bomb an abortion clinic they expected to be prosecuted. And they should be, to the full extent of the law.
If a church advocates for immigrants that is free speech. If a church acts as sanctuary in contravention of the law, they should be prepared for the consequences.
We know that the Biden administration pressure social media to restrict content. Pressure only works if there is an implied threat. What administration was it that wanted to hire an additional 70,000 armed IRS agents? Oh, yeah, it was the Biden administration.

Wrong. They ran to the woods and did everything they could to avoid capture and prosecution.
What law are churches breaking by providing succor and aid to immigrants….even undocumented/illegal ones?
A completely false equivalency unless you can show me masked IRS agents not identifying themselves while dragging people off the streets and effectively disappearing them.
I’m not in any way defending Biden. Never voted for him, but to equivocate what is happening now to the Biden admin is nonsense.This is what I mean when I say that I think we're on a death spiral.
