Ellis Island alone processed 5000 per day ever day in 1907
This isn't an unprecedented number
That’s about half what it is now.
It took them 62 years to run 12 million through Ellis Island. That’s 193k /year on average or 530/day. This bill lets in almost half the population of the state of Oklahoma every year and everyone with half a brain knows it won’t stop there.Yeah, I can do the math. How are they going to shut the border down? We had an estimated over 800,000 illegals cross the border last year without encountering any type of border official. I like your Ellis Island example. Let’s secure the border first, put eyeballs and hands on every single person that wants to enter our country, and then we can talk about how many we want to let in every year. The idea that suddenly when #5000 comes through the line we will just magically seal the border off is fantasy and the carpet baggers in DC are selling it because they know people like you are buying.
