2024 Presidential Election

Any and all arguments from the “Christian” understanding regarding abortion are laid bare here and shown to be lacking in comparison to what the “Christian Right” proclaims to be the obvious Christian understanding of abortion. The person speaking in this clip has a PHD in this sh!t. If we can’t acknowledge that a person has spent their life studying a specific topic and knows what they are talking about, then this entire board needs to be moved to yahoo answers. Seriously, isn’t this board based on a f**king higher education institution? Any and all abortion discussion based on a fundamentalist/literalist interpretation of the Bible is bogus from the very foundation. If there is any argument for a “biblical” understanding of abortion and how it is wrong … well, it has no basis in Christian literature and you’re wrong. You’re wrong and I don’t know how else to say it.

Also, I would encourage anyone with Bible questions to head to Dan’s page. Instagram, especially. Great stuff.

To ban abortion is mainly about the desire for the government to hold power and control over women, while allowing the promiscuous men who cause unwanted pregnancies to go on about living their merry way. Seemingly a significant number of Oklahoma women do want government control over their reproductive choices as reflected by Sen Mullin winning by 62% even though he said he publicly indicated he was pro-life with no exception. It's why I feel any initiative to gain abortion rights in Oklahoma will be close and may not be on the winning side.

Some men who want abortion banned think the country started going downhill in 1920 when women got the right the vote. So, they want that abolished as well. Republicans running for political office should be asked about that.

  • US President Joe Biden has issued an official pardon for his son Hunter, who was set to face sentencing this month on federal felony gun and tax convictions
  • It comes as the Democratic president had previously said he would not pardon his son or commute his sentence
  • But on Sunday evening, President Biden said although he believed in the justice system, "politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice"
  • Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to tax charges earlier in September, and was found guilty of being an illegal drug user in possession of a gun in June - becoming the first child of a sitting president to be a convicted of a crime

Biden's pardon an 'abuse and miscarriage of justice'

Trump has called Biden's pardon of his son an "abuse and miscarriage of justice".

"Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!" the president-elect posted on Truth Social.

I would like to know what he means by "politics has infected this process" because if a democratic justice department can't even politically "disinfect" justice for a democratic president's son doesn't that lend credence to the Republican claims that the justice department has been used politically against them?

That's crap but the whole reason he wasn't pardoned in the first place was because of how it would look politically. I guess it doesn't matter now so powerful people are gonna do powerful people stuff.

It's not the way our country should be run and I wish Biden had the conviction to keep his word. Yet another example of rules for thee but not for me.

We all knew it was coming when he pled guilty. It’s a smart move….keep anything at trial from being the lead story walk a few months later.

Biden had to say he wouldn’t pardon him. Most all of us would pardon our sons too.

I wish Biden would not have been so emphatic he wasn’t going to pardon him.

That said, I agree I would pardon my kids for a charge like Hunter’s.

Eff Trump he pardoned Kishore’s dad.

Now he's giving Kushner's dad a job: Ambassador to France.

Charles Kushner is the founder of Kushner Companies, a New York based real estate company. He was convicted of preparing false tax returns, retaliating against a cooperating witness, and making false statements to the Federal Election Commission in 2005.

He served more than 16 months of a two-year sentence in federal prison and a halfway program before he was released in 2006, NorthJersey.com reported. Trump pardoned Charles Kushner in 2020, saying at the time that Kushner was devoted to philanthropic organizations and causes.

Charles Kushner was prosecuted by former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a vocal Trump critic who ran in the 2024 Republican primaries and later dropped out. In a 2019 interview, Christie called Charles Kushner's actions “one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes" he prosecuted as the U.S. Attorney for New Jersey.

The elder Kushner admitted to paying a prostitute to seduce a brother-in-law and have their sexual encounter videotaped. Kushner then sent the tape to his sister in an effort to intimidate her against becoming a witness in the federal investigation.

The billionaires of Trump’s proposed administration newsnation

Donald Trump is a money man, and the billionaire himself will lead a wealthy White House Cabinet should all of his nominations gain Senate approval.

The President-elect has a net worth of $5.7 billion, as of Dec. 1, according to Forbes, and he has chosen a slew of fellow billionaires to serve in his second administration.

His proposed Cabinet, with Senate confirmation, will include former professional wrestler and WWE co-founder Linda McMahon, Wall Street executive Howard Lutnick, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and hedge fund money manager Scott Bessent — all billionaires.

Their combined net worths total $10.7 billion, according to U.S. News & World Report’s calculations. That’s $4.5 billion more than Trump’s first-term Cabinet. In comparison, President Joe Biden’s Cabinet total net worth was $118 million — with an M.

Trump also selected tech entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead his inaugural Department of Government Efficiency. These positions do not require Senate confirmation, but they raise the overall net worth of Trump’s incoming administration to $344.4 billion.
