I am about as 100% against any type of Socialism, but I agree that healthcare in the US must be improved… and I would not be opposed to a socialistic approach for seniors. It not a lot of money for most, but Medicare Supplement plans are a MUST and for a few too expensive. And they are confusing.

We should have some sliding scale for seniors in which those that worked xx+ years and paid into the system get Medicare supplemental plans free. And includes better care.
We had a socialist approach to seniors then allowed the insurance companies in to steal money.

It isn't just seniors, the whole system is absolute garbage and needs to change. The problem is that the entities making the money will for the most part need to go away to have a functional system. They are going to continue to pay the government to stop that from happening.

80 year old patient with dementia. Doesn’t bring anything to the clinic, no glucometer or CGM read. On insulin. Is also on a couple of oral meds for diabetes but can’t confirm that he is taking them, so I have no earthly idea. When I ask him how much insulin he takes his answer was “four hundred units”. I’ve never had anyone on anything close to that. He was in a nursing home until February but they discharged him because his money ran out. Discharged him on sliding scale insulin where he has to make decisions about how much to take. Our healthcare system is broken.

At one time if you had asked me about some kind of socialized healthcare system I would have been totally against it. But now… we have to fix this and I don’t know how else we can.

Not changing the subject at all ..just showing u how the current administration is ignoring the very real and very legitimate questions you had ..and HOW/WHAT they are actually doing instead

You had good call outs and ideas. Now go ask your congressman why they aren't working on those types of things Instead of literally inventing their own new problems
Ignoring the issue is not new with current administration.

Does the fact that this "bipartisan" and supposedly unbiased report summary that the taxpayer funded did not in any way mention "The COVID vaccine decreased severity, reduced hospitalizations, and saved lives" concern you at all as a taxpaying citizen?

The report may address the above, its 502 pages. If it does, whomever wrote the report summary conveniently didn't bullet point it.

Regardless, I think we are far enough down the road that we can/should step back and start reviewing how this virus was handled so we can do better next time. We don't do that because everyone picked sides. Both sides were right about certain aspects, and both sides were wrong about certain aspects. To be 100% truthful, both sides have to admit to being partially wrong. In today's world we just can't handle that.

Take the reaction of that report on this board. The instant reaction was to find the low hanging fruit and mock that to discredit the entire thing. Even when doing so was incorrect because the two statements do not technically contradict each other.

I need to ask my son if he has been taught about A1 in school. Figure by 3rd grade the school should have covered it if shes talking about it at preschool level. Does it go in the fridge after opening or can be out?

Serious question. What preschooler needs to be learning about AI?

Is this outlawing nicknames that aren't run by the parent. I had a bunch of friends that went by nicknames, guess every teacher would have to get a permission slip signed now saying the teacher could use it. Weird
This is more of a teacher calling a student Mary instead of Michael.
