US continues to go backward...

Consequences?

Jesus dude. Read the damn posts instead of just adding BS.

Seems to me the conversation was getting to the "you don't know their story" type of conversation in defense of the protestors.

Neither party looks good. No message is being pushed. Stuffs getting destroyed, people are getting hurt. It's already been stated by 69 that this is a really small area and it's not residential. It's pretty freaking easy just to choose not to be in that area.

I just don't get it or any defense for it.

It's just a freakin' photo op for both sides.

I’m in LA and I want to clarify a few things:

- the protests have been confined to 5 streets in DTLA
- the curfew is for 1 square mile in DTLA
- the city of LA is 403 square miles
- LA county is 4085 square miles
- context is important so as not to spread misinformation

In case anyone was wondering...
The National Guard is protecting federal buildings in a very small area around City Hall and across the freeway to Olvera Street. Maybe 5 square blocks. That's it. Nobody is rioting. The 101 is open now. I've seen bigger civil disturbances working 7 years of Black Fridays at Macy's.

Yep, not one iota of civil disturbance to see there.

It's just a freakin' photo op for both sides.
Bingo......

The folks that watched the George Floyd riots and thought it was anarchy support it......the ones that called those peaceful are gonna oppose.....regardless the truth because they didn't care about the facts last time either.

If this gets calmed down before massive issues both sides will claim a victory.

Everyone just starts talking past each other about two different things. In both George Floyd and now this, the legitimate protests during the day were 100% peaceful about a totally justified reason to protest.

But THEN comes the dark money. Seriously, it's already been shown that the violence in LA has been funded by a group with ties to China. There's pallets of bricks and masks being dropped off before they even start. And you know that no matter who is in power they aren't going to miss a chance to look like the "law and order" administration.

I wish we could separate the two, but there's no room for that in today's political discourse.

BALDWIN: What is the authority that the administration is using to deploy active duty Marines to California neighborhoods?

HEGSETH: The president has constitutional authority

BALDWIN: Cite the provision of the Constitution

HEGSETH: I'd have to pull up the specific provision

Do you have any sources for the China involvement? I wouldn't put it past them, but that claim would need some evidence for it.

The violence/vandalism in Denver back in 2020 occurred after the main protests were held and finished and a lot of people left. It was a completely different crowd. There were a lot of homeless people and people that just wanted to f*ck stuff up.

NEW: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he was deploying the Texas National Guard to multiple locations across the state to "ensure peace and order."

"Peaceful protests are part of the fabric of our nation, but Texas will not tolerate the lawlessness we have seen in Los Angeles," Abbott's office said.
Then leave it to the states to solve their own problems with illegal immigrants. If they lack jurisdiction have Congress give it to them. Trump has proven he can NOT handle the immigration problem without causing chaos, disorder and riots. When people start getting killed things will only get more worse and more senseless.

Oh I think I heard it on a news podcast I watched. But one quick Google pulled up a few sources that mention it. I'll use a local news outlet. That paired with the video (I believe was real) of the pallets of bricks and other provisions.

FBI to investigate funding of the Los Angeles anti-ICE protests; organizations involved

Our researchers found two main organizations that are heavily involved in these protests. The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) receives nearly $34 million/year in government grants. Including private donations from ActBlue, a Democratic fundraising platform. Also, the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) receives federal and California state grants, along with private funding.

"Just the News' also reports that the Party for Socialism and Liberation, which has reported ties to the Chinese Communist Party, was also involved with protests.

But a number of fearmongering conservatives say that under the Biden years at least 10 to 20 or more million illegal immigrants invaded the USA. With approval of the Democrat Party, they are under the sponsorship of globalists and the United Nations to cause mass disorder and terrorism when given the signal to do so. Power grids in big cities will go down. Many conservatives thought that signal would be given in November when Trump won. Of course, that didn't happen. It's likely just a lot of conspiratorial, paranoid nonsense, while trying to hike sales of snake oil and prepper supplies. Anyway, how do you mass deport many millions of illegals? At the rate, Trump is going the illegals are probably producing more babies.

My position is there are many, many people defending the rights of protestors who are participating in criminal activity.

And they really expend a lot of effort doing it.

That's not my opinion, that's what is happening.
Michael Yon is an interesting character, who conservatives are fond of. He has lived a venturous life from being a war correspondent and observing protests from around the world. He claims to have infiltrated Antifa in the past. He says Antifa members are all drug addicts who aren't very smart. They may run like cockroaches when threatened.

As for doing something to quell protests, he says to take out their leaders. They may be on bull horns or speaking into radios. Look for an antenna sticking out. Bring a scanner to eavesdrop on them.

Yon lives off of donors to finance his world travels to wars and political conflicts. An interesting statement he made was, "If a writer wants to make money, he should avoid truth and tell people what they want to hear. Yet to win the war, tell the truth."

Well SHIT

I honestly thought it was the same picture from Minneapolis in 2020.

Then I got to thinking, a pallet of bricks at a Home Depot? I mean, why would a store that specializes in home building materials have a pallet of bricks on their property?

Either way I figured there was alot of information missing about the picture.

I would advise against taking conspiracy theory fanatics seriously, especially the ones that have snake oil and prepper gear to sell you after trying to scare you with their nonsense. They love to take advantage that there are a lot of gullible people out there who will swallow anything.
