US continues to go backward...

The government trains you to make excuses for violent behavior? Seems like a complete waste of training, resources, and time.
Based on your logic, counterterrorism studies as a field "makes excuses" for terrorism. Seek to understand motivations =/=condoning behavior.

You really expend a lot of effort defending silly and bad faith positions. It would be far easier to be more judicious on the positions you decide to take up.

My position is there are many, many people defending the rights of protestors who are participating in criminal activity.

And they really expend a lot of effort doing it.

That's not my opinion, that's what is happening.

So all protestors are participating in criminal activity????

News flash:

People participating in criminal activity of any type ABSOLUTELY and without question have rights under our Constitution.

Rights as the suspected. Rights as the charged. Even rights after conviction.

And public officials take an oath to respect, honor, and defend those rights.

That's not my opinion. That's a fact of law.

The Constitution does NOT give them the right to participate in criminal activity.

Nobody said that it does....AT ALL.

Stop being intentionally dense with your responses. They make you sound like a hysterical teenage girl.....or a MAGAstani....one or the other.

It does, however, say that they are innocent of accusations that they are, in fact, participating in criminal activity unless proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

It further says that they have all the same rights as persons not participating in criminal activity until it is so proven and continue to have rights after conviction.

100% it is a false opinion. That is only your position because you are making zero attempt to actually listen to what anyone is saying. You pigeonholed people, and are going to stick with it no matter what. And, the more we explain that we are not doing what you are saying, you chose to call that more defending.

The only people I've pigeonholed are the criminal protestors who think it's cool to set fire to and destroy property. Period.

Gee, I see you responding with nonsense straw man arguments to a bunch of people here and as far as we know none of them are even in Cali.

I’m in LA and I want to clarify a few things:

- the protests have been confined to 5 streets in DTLA
- the curfew is for 1 square mile in DTLA
- the city of LA is 403 square miles
- LA county is 4085 square miles
- context is important so as not to spread misinformation

In case anyone was wondering...
The National Guard is protecting federal buildings in a very small area around City Hall and across the freeway to Olvera Street. Maybe 5 square blocks. That's it. Nobody is rioting. The 101 is open now. I've seen bigger civil disturbances working 7 years of Black Fridays at Macy's.

Are you trying to claim they should be allowed to throw molotovs then prosecute them later? Please tell me that's not what the forum prosecutor is trying to convey.
JEEZUZ fING CHRIST Rob.

I said what I said....and it was NOTHING like your ridiculous stupid strawmen.

F-ing stop with these irrational, hysterical, strawmen.
