US continues to go backward...

BREAKING NEWS: Texas introduces bill HB 3399 which bans gender affirming treatment for ALL individuals regardless of age.

It was never about protecting children.

Texas Republicans want to pass prohibitive laws to also make adults feel like killing themselves from being denied gender affirming treatment, such as surgery and drug threrapy. The more sane and compassionate thing for government to do would be to encourage research over what causes gender dysphoria and better ways to treat it. It's surely more of a mental problem that born with wrong body problem.

Am I misinterpreting this…which I might be. But isn’t this just banning taxpayer money to fund gender reassignment surgeries?

No..
Texas lawmaker proposes bill to ban gender transition treatment for everyone, including adults
Surgeries and puberty-blocking drugs would be banned for all Texans under the bill, with few exceptions

Aside from Medicaid benefits (or any insurance subsidized by the government) do any taxpayer funds pay for gender reassignment? I would guess definitely no now and probably not before January, but I've never really thought to look into it.

The FBI people watching my Google today are gonna have some questions.

If that is the case, then this bill is a terrible overreach by the government. Makes sense not to allow public money, but the government does not know better about a citizen’s body than the citizen.
That is the case, and I appreciate you recognizing that it is governmental over-reach to bar consenting adults to make their own health and bodily integrity decisions.

Btw, I tend to agree that it wouldn’t necessarily be an over-reach to disallow public money funding for such decisions.

I still don’t know how Hannity manages to talk with Trump’s wang in his mouth. It must be some form of ventriloquism, but I haven’t figured out who’s hand is up his butt.

Pastor and self-proclaimed "prophet" Brian Gibson says Christians who complain about Trump must repent and "stop being a pain in everybody's rear end" and instead thank God for his election victory because otherwise "we could be living in a totalitarian communist hell right now."

US Attorney General Pam Bondi did not inform White House officials in advance that she planned to distribute the so-called Epstein files binders to MAGA influencers.

Bondi ordered her staff not to tell the White House in the hopes it would be a good surprise.

Now the move has ruffled feathers among those closest to President Donald Trump, including his senior White House staff.
