US continues to go backward...

I am saying that appeasement is not a path to peace. That and there will not be a hot war with Russia anytime soon. Tucker is just fearmongering, nothing more.
Countries joining NATO that border Russia was no pathway to peace. That wasn't much different than Mexico somehow deciding to invite thousands of Russian troops to Mexico to patrol its border with the U. S.

Ukraine was not joining NATO prior to the 2014 invasion and the 2022 invasion. What caused them to be invaded? Getting rid of a puppet goverment via elections. Does Ukraine have free will to trade and form alliances?

No one except Ramaswamy has talked about invading Mexico, this is a false equivalence.

Ukraine has nothing to do with my point, but Estonia and other countries that border on Russia that joined NATO is my point. It helps explain why Russia invaded Ukraine.

It's a similar equaivalence. This is because Russia doesn't like NATO troops near its border the same as U. S. wouldn't want Russian troops near its border.

It should, bececause that is the cointry we have been discussing up to this point.

its pretty clear that you think that countries shouldn't have agency in their own affairs. Russia can not like it, ut it is a dorect result of imperialistic policie and mistreatment of people in those countries--they have the lowest opinion of russia in the world. That doesnt happen by accident, does it?

Not sure if you made much sense with your misspellings, but of course, I feel countries should have control over their own affairs, but doesn't mean I have to always agree with it. Russia was told NATO member countries would not be at its borders, but was betrayed.

Yeah, I fat-fingered that one on my phone. Imperialism was a big part of it, which is why they wanted to join nato. Plus Russian aggression in the 2000s against Georgia, culminating in the 2014 invasion of Ukraine. It all adds up.

The Cruz video truly seems to have bothered some people. Why do some people let extremely minor things upset them so much? It was dorky, but harmless
Because he lied about it coming from the Biden administration. Like the constant lies about things that aren't part of the Democrat's party platform to trick low information voters. It's pathetic, dishonest, and immoral. I've always said there are political lies (i.e., puffery) which we've all come to accept (usually in the form of overpromising things), and there are outright falsehoods like "Biden wants to limit your beer intake" and the one about schools being required to provide kids with litter boxes if they identify as cats.

Edit: Polds beat me to it with more specifics, once these idiots mention it, they say it everywhere, and I guarantee you half of Oklahomans come next November will still be saying that they have to vote Trump because Biden went too far trying to limit them to two beers a week.

I LEGIT received a call from a family member On Saturday before the OSU game asking me if I was only going to drink 2 beers for the game because President Joe Biden was trying to install a Mandate before the end of the year to make it illegal to drink more than 2 beers in a week.

It took me almost 30 min to convince this particular family member they were full of crap and had fallen for a crazy right wing conspiracy theory not based in reality.

And these are the same people that want to get rid of all the books, so our Politicians can tell us everything that is true and real or not....and not let us read and decide that on our own.

The Cruz thing is so incredibly minor compared to lies and intentional misstatements we are barraged with weekly by political operatives and media. Surprised it raises even an eyebrow.

Well it came up in a White House briefing, so not all that minor. Also, if it were isolated, then sure, but it's part of the bigger problem described above. It's constant lies, nonstop, and low information voters hear it once, and it becomes true to them. It's a small part of an enormous problem.

I am not disputing that low information voters become confused even with social issues But a two beer claim certainly seems very minor comparatively.

We have people that believe that are 400+ anti-LGTBQ bills in state legislatures; that you can’t say the word “gay” in Florida schools; that CRT is prevalent in schools; and several US Senators last year claimed that the GOP was planning to end Social Security and Medicare. Biden himself has previously joined in on the Medicare claim.

Politicians look to capitalize when they can.

LOL

Dismiss "the lies" that come from your side as minor and unimportant.

Throw up "the lies" that come from the other side as more important.

You're a real piece of work.

You continue to show your consistency. There is no one on this board that it is more obvious they only consume news from one side.

A lie about CRT being prevelant in schools comes from right-wing media and politicians.

A lie about not being able to say gay in Florida comes from left-wing media and politicians.

And yes, all of the above is significantly bigger than 2 beer cans. But I also read news from multiple sources from varying perspectives and can weigh what is a keg versus a 16oz mug. I know you don’t understand that.

A lie is a lie. A lie that is then inflated to the point this lie has been is a calculated and inflated as a wedge issue is not a "16 oz mug". It is a "keg". I know you actually do understand that, but you intentionally and repeatedly dismiss lies from the right as "16 oz mugs". You consistently dismiss lies from the right as nothing to be worried about.

You try to paint a veneer of supposed impartiality, but you are transparent as they come.

I have been consistently and equally critical of both the right and the left. So much so that I managed to make two of the biggest bozos on this board from the left and the right respectively united in calling me out for not treating "their" folks fairly.....for being too "in the middle"....instead of picking a side and sticking with it.

You cannot seriously claim to have done the same.

My first year at OSU the Fireside Theater was big. They had an album out called “I think we’re all bozos on this bus”. Very funny. Somethings never change huh @CowboyJD . Lies are so prevalent, large and small, that each one MUST be challenged. Otherwise the low information voter will just claim lies truth because no one told them otherwise.
