Welp, the only chance for Russia to be stopped is the rest of Europe to step up. That looks like a nail in the coffin for US/Ukraine relations. Only two options left on the table.

1. Europe actually steps up and assists with Ukraine’s right to self determination. Ukraine could have some sort of settled armistice in the next year and survives.

2. Russia conquers Ukraine. Emboldening them to push for more conquest.

Both of these will lead to irreversible damage to global trust in the US. This also hurts global diplomacy. This Administration has knocked back 50 years of any positive soft power we had in 2 months. In a couple years we won’t be able to buy anything with computer chips due to Chinese supply blockades after they conquer Taiwan. Likely timed a year after the CHIPs act is mothballed. Any trade relationship with our biggest trading partners in Europe is over and they will look elsewhere for goods and services we provide. China is also snatching up trading relations in the fastest developing countries in South America and Africa. I guess we could still build something with Hungary, lots of trade opportunity there. How could anyone see this as a win?
