Bidens condition as president was a massively under discussed story...until now (four months after he exited). The situation may get comparable but right now I don't think the two situations are anywhere near apples to apples.

I disagree. Think about a bunch of the stuff Trump has said and ask yourself how you would have felt if Biden said the exact same thing a year ago.

If people were calling for an investigation into Bidens mental fitness last year they need to be doing the same now. Otherwise it was never about Bidens mental capacity.

I'm fine with a cognitive test now. Absolutely should have happened two years ago. Probably should happen before any president is sworn in or nominated for that matter. And probably should happen yearly after inauguration.

That said, disagree all you want. Biden was way the F out of it. Not the same as we are seeing now. Honestly not even close. We watched the two square off in the same room 10 months ago. Only one of them left with their party feeling like a loss was imminent and only one left believing a win was in the bag. And it had nothing to do with the message. The cognitive decline issue is not the apples to apples you want it to be.

Trump is all over the map when he talks…but he has also always been that way. Old clips of him on Oprah show how he jumps around topics. Trump has such a massive ego that he needs to stroke that he is constantly doing media interviews. An amazing stat is he did 129 media interviews during his first 100-days of his 2025 2nd term…compare that to the 125 media interviews Biden did during his entire 4-year term.

Add to that he has completed joint press conferences with many foreign leaders: Macron, Netanyahu, Starmer, Modi, Ishiba, Zelenskyy, Ramaphosa, etc. It is very fair to criticize his behavior, tone, and topical interest in those meetings, and certainly anyone as they age is going to start struggling with cognitive issues (to your point about age limits). But agree it is nowhere near the level of Biden. (edit: I like your plums to prunes reference)

Dont all the foreign students have to be approved for student visas? Why not just stop giving new student visas to people from those countries? And they still pay tuition.

I don't think the point is to say that Trump's cognitive decline at the beginning of this presidency is equivalent to Biden's decline at the end of his presidency. The equivalence is taking actions to cover it.

I feel so much better knowing the crazy he says, the crazy made up version of reality, the insanity and chaos, tariff back and forth nonsense, violating the law and ignoring due process is by design rather than due to cognitive decline.

Feels great knowing that’s just how he is and he’s always been that way.

And a couple months later one of them said people were eating cats and dogs. And he spent 15 minutes dancing randomly to YMCA at his national convention.

There's something going on there and we shouldn't downplay it just because of the letter next to his name.
