Trump 47

Out of concern for low birthrate, they are looking at ways to get people to have more kids.

The teaching about menstrual cycles had me laughing a bit considering that should be part of any sex ed class, and it implies people just don't know how conceive. I see a higher likelihood that it would impact birthrate negatively.

People aren't having kids because they are really expensive and often set at least one parent back career wise due to schedule issues. If you don’t live near other family, all the school closures and holidays are huge impacts to ability to work and daycare is really expensive. Now on top of that medical care for pregnancy, birth and childhood is only going to get more expensive as public health programs get pruned and medication costs go up. So they are proposing $5k to help offset those costs. How does anyone that wants reduced gov spending and hates government handouts support that?
Somebody should write a book about this problem, with detailed ways on how to fix it...

Speaker Mike Johnson threatened to eliminate federal courts for challenging the Trump regime, saying Congress has the power and authority to get rid of the courts and is ready to act.

After the Trump administration asked the IRS to revoke Harvard University's tax-exempt status for defying President Trump, old clips resurfaced of Trump, along with Vice President JD Vance and GOP Senator Ted Cruz, claiming they'd never let that happen.

So, unless I'm not reading this chart correctly, Trump only has a net positive favorability rating with while male boomers that don't have any college education?...

It's not like this

My opinion on the subject (of course I'm not an expert) based solely on being a parent to an elementary age kid and working with a lot of people in their 20s and early 30s.

1.Make child care affordable
2. Make housing affordable
3. Support a work life balance (time off for family needs)
4. Stop making life and the world feel like it's falling apart and there's no chance for a happy future
5. If you can't do that then increase younger population through immigration.

We are going backwards on every aspect.

Meh, she was obviously resisting being escorted out. I can't tell who's getting zip tied here.

NEW: Dept. of Education says it's restarting "involuntary" repayment of federal student loans that are in default.

5.3 million borrowers are in default on their federal student loans. The department says that number could reach 10 million within months.

Opposite impact of what the tariffs were supposed to do, right? Weren't they supposed to bring manufacturing jobs to the US.

Turns out if it's stupid expensive to bring all the materials and components into the country, it doesn't make sense to build the final product here either. Save expense by localizing the supply chain and then eat the tariff once on only those destined for the US vs eating it for everything that's going to be in the US, Mexico or Canada.

Companies shifting is going to be largely driven by where the majority of their supply chain is located and how costly (time and money) it would be shift it here.

Seems on message for the wannabe dictator, and extremely not ok for a democratic society.

So I guess he's moved on from this opinion?
