'Full-blown meltdown at the Pentagon': Hegseth reportedly 'unlikely to remain in his role'

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who has been mired in controversy since Donald Trump first nominated him, is now "unlikely to remain in his role," according to his own former department spokesperson on Sunday.

The report includes "remarkable accusations" from a former Hegseth aide and comes the same day as it was reported that the Secretary was involved in a second unsecured Signal chat in which sensitive attack plans were shared. Hegseth was mocked for the reported security misstep.

In a piece entitled, "Former Pentagon official warns department’s dysfunction could topple Hegseth," Politico quotes John Ullyot, the former top Defense Department spokesperson, as saying, "The last month has been a full-blown meltdown at the Pentagon."

"The Pentagon is in 'total chaos' and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is unlikely to remain in his role, according to its former top spokesperson, who painted a scene of dysfunction, backstabbing and continuous missteps at the highest levels of the department," according to the report.

It further quotes Ullyot as saying, "The building is in disarray under Hegseth’s leadership ... The dysfunction is now a major distraction for the president — who deserves better from his senior leadership."

The report goes on to say, "Ullyot, who resigned from the Pentagon last week, described a department in collapse."

"He accused Hegseth’s team of 'falsehoods' about why three top officials were fired last week, saying they hadn’t leaked sensitive information to the media. He chastised Pentagon officials for how they handled revelations that Hegseth shared sensitive military information in a Signal chat, and he pointed to other leaks that caused embarrassment to the administration," the weekend report states. "The remarkable accusations by a former official — who left only two days ago and insists he still supports the Trump administration’s national security policies — underscores the infighting and upheaval that has turned increasingly public in recent weeks."

He brought his wife along to high level NATO defense meetings too. No clue why he would do that or what benefit she could possibly bring to the meeting. I think people defending him say it's ok because Biden brought his wife to some meetings.

This will be interesting. Do you have the right to Anonymity if you participate in a Public Protest ??

Wisconsin man born in the US, Never accused or arrested for any crime in his life threatened with deportation saying his Parole had been Revoked by Homeland Security

Frantz contacted U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s office. Her staff reached out to DHS for answers.

According to Baldwin’s office, DHS later confirmed the message was part of a broader error. The email was sent to addresses connected to the CBP One App — an online platform used by people seeking humanitarian parole, asylum, or support through immigration attorneys, NGOs, or financial sponsors.

Frantz says he has never used the CBP One App and doesn’t fit any of the categories listed. DHS told the senator’s office the email was mistakenly distributed to all associated email addresses in the app’s database.

Senator Baldwin called the situation “completely illegal,” adding in a statement sent to Local 5:

“President Trump is trying to deport an American-born, law-abiding citizen and has provided absolutely no justification. The President cannot kick Americans out of the country just because he wants — no one is above the law, including the President.”

Frantz says DHS apologized for the mistake through Baldwin’s office, but he worries about what could’ve happened if he hadn’t acted quickly, or if someone else received the same letter and didn’t know where to turn.

“One mistake can lead to two, can lead to three… and where does that put me further down the line?” he said. “It can happen to anybody.”

Frantz says his situation appears to be resolved for now, but he hopes others who may have received a similar message take it seriously and seek help immediately.

Gee I thought we would have A LOT more people on this board calling Trump out For this. I mean people have TRASHED several Past POTUS's on this very topic saying you can't govern by EO.

Congress barely does anything real anymore. I blame him for the crazy EOs but not for the lack of bills signed.

Americans Should Get 'Reparations' Over Migration, White House Suggests

The White House deputy chief of staff has suggested that Americans should be paid reparations "for the damages inflicted by mass migration."

Stephen Miller made the remarks during an interview with Newsmax on Friday, in which he hit back at suggestions from Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse that the government should be fined over the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia to El Salvador.

What To Know

Miller made the comments about reparations during a discussion about the ongoing saga of Abrego Garcia, a Maryland father who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador in March.

Whitehouse has suggested that a federal judge could put the government under a "civil contempt sanction" and be fined a $1 million a day, some of which could be given to Abrego Garcia.

"For the love of God, where are the damages for Americans?" Miller told Newsmax in response to questions about Whitehouse's proposal.

Miller went on to list various issues facing the country, all of which he blamed on illegal migration, including issues with the public education system, drug-related deaths, gang violence and violent crime.

He claimed, without evidence, that "open borders" had damaged the public school system in the country, stating: "Nobody's learning how to read or write. An entire generation of Americans, multiple generations, in fact, have been robbed of educational opportunities."

He also blamed immigration for gang violence in Los Angeles, fentanyl-related deaths, and crimes including "ambush attacks" against police officers.

"There aren't enough volumes that could fit into a library to calculate the carnage that has been inflicted by the Democratic Party's policy of open borders," he said.

Stephen Miller on Newsmax: "Where does our whole country go to get repaid for all of the wealth, all of the prosperity and security that has been stolen from us by decades of uncontrolled illegal mass migration? Because we all deserve reparations for what has been stolen from us."
No he can’t be bsmecause only people that call others racist are racist. The ones that only care if the criminal is white aren’t the racists.

There's been several examples of this, added qn article about another one.

Like everything else, the administration screwed up the letters and sent them to a bunch of people who they didn't apply to. Claiming it's tied to people registering the wrong email in the CBPOne app. Not sure I believe that excuse.

Difference is he’s the secretary of defense not the president.

Totally agree.

Plus it is a strategy for them. If everything is by EO, then the next President can just come in and undo it. But if there is no next President or it's one hand picked by the current one, there isnt anyone to undo them.

Unilateral action taken by POTUS doesn't require cooperation with anyone else, neither the other party or even the same party.
