If your point actually was "an illegal immigrant sidesteps his due process by not immigrating through proper channels", then you definitely DO NOT understand the meaning of "due process under the law".

Next up from an authoritarian regime.....a person born in the US to people not immigrating through proper channels sidestepped his due process (rescinding birthright citizenship).

After that....."criminals" sidestepped their due process rights by committing a crime.
 
Yes, IF American citizens are sent to El Salvador with no conviction I'll certainly lose sleep over that. BUT notice he said "criminals".
They are claiming people are criminals now before any conviction and during waits for court.

So obviously they really don't care about due process (which I know you don't understand nor care about either).
 
5th Amendment:

"No person....nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

14th Amendment:

"....nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

Nowhere in any of that is anything even remotely akin to "sidestepping" or losing the right to due process by violating the law or being here illegally vs. legally.

So the US government says you have to come into the country to seek asylum. That's what a LOT of these people have done. They came in, found a border agent and claimed asylum. The process for that is years long and requires them to keep in touch with court providing location while they are generally granted a right to live and (I think) work here during the process.

So what do you want someone to do who is fleeing gang violence and persecution to do?

The hell they haven't.

If they're here illegally, they're criminals. And they weren't given nor did they ask for due process.

Donald Trump policy advisor Stephen Miller was raked over the coals late Thursday for what longtime conservative columnist Ed Whelan called his "brazen" Fox News appearance where he attempted to misrepresent a Supreme Court ruling on the return of deported Maryland dad Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia.


In his column for the National Review, Whelan broke down Miller's rambling attempt to defend the administration's decision to blow off a unanimous ruling from the conservative court for the DOH to "facilitate" the return of Abrego Garcia, with what the conservative critic called "delusional" reasoning.

As Whelan sees it, Miller "stooped to a new low" as he tried to defend the indefensible when it comes to denying someone living in the U.S. due process.

"This isn’t complicated stuff. The Court’s order (not including the separate statement of Justice Sotomayor) is three paragraphs long, and the operative portion (from which I draw all of my quotations) is one paragraph long. The Trump administration lost unanimously," he wrote before adding that the Trump advisor began, "First, we won the Supreme Court case. Clearly. Nine-zero," to which Whelan responded, "Nope, you lost. Unanimously."


After writing that Miller only delivered, "More delusional fantasizing about what the court actually ordered," the conservative pointed out that the Trump administration is headed for a fall by writing: "If the White House is going to refuse to accept and abide by its losses on emergency applications, the Supreme Court might well decide to summarily reject those applications."

And your last paragraph is absolutely silly and falling for the fear provided by social media. It is not easier to be an illegal immigrant than a legal one. I have several family members, including my dad, aunts/uncles, and many cousins, who are legal immigrants. I certainly have not talked to all of them, but I am confident they don’t have concerns.

Not one of them side-stepped the process of legally entering the country. Was the process arduous, tedious, and time consuming at times…yes. Should the process be faster and better ….yes.

If you have relatives that are first generation immigrants, they should have concerns.

I think the point of what he was saying is we have a bunch of people who went through the proper channels that are easy to track down. By attempting to do things the right way they created a paper trail. Those that just sneak in and keep their head down are more difficult to find.

Then what does him continuing to say over and over that anyone here without a visa no mater the process they are going through getting sent off regardless of court orders contrary to that indicate that he is supporting them getting their due and legally required process, what does that mean then? Please enlighten us all.

Every court that has looked at this has ruled against the administration here.

You know how yesterday you were saying you don't support unconstitutional actions and have never said you did. Now you are sure sounding like you do. You are supporting a position of people under court protection from deportation shouldn't be protected from said deportations to include into a foreign prison without any criminal convictions.
