Trump 47

This is getting off-the-plot stupid.
"How to crash the world in a few short weeks" should be DT's next ghost-written book.

Trump’s latest China duties went into effect just after midnight Wednesday. The 104% tariff on all Chinese imports that Trump has now imposed in his second term will stack on top of earlier tariffs already in place, bringing the total average tariff rate on China to nearly 125%.

...........

Tools that Beijing has already used and is likely to expand include export controls of critical materials American companies use to make chips and defense-related products, regulatory investigations designed to intimidate and penalize U.S. companies, and blacklists intended to bar U.S. businesses from selling to China. In addition, authorities are preparing new ways to pressure American companies to give up their crown jewels—intellectual property—or lose access to the Chinese market.

This could be painful for a lot of electronics, and the defense industry especially. At a time where there is a lot of concern about possible Chinese military action. It'll be interesting to see what happens here and if we really start pushing harder for rare earth materials being processed in CONUS.

Are they made in China?

Trump has long blasted China’s trade practices. His ‘God Bless the USA’ Bibles were printed there

Where Are Trump Watches Made?

While Trump watches are marketed as premium products, it’s crucial to understand where they are actually produced. Trump timepieces are predominantly made in Switzerland and China—two of the most prominent countries in the global watchmaking industry.

'I rebuke you in the name of Jesus': GOP rep explodes at Johnson in closed-door meeting

Emotions are running high in Republican meetings over a GOP budget threatening to add up to $5.8 trillion to the nation’s deficit and potentially raise the nation’s debt to 214% of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2054

Parts of the budget, according to NOTUS, include an unpopular executive action agenda that halts funding for many public services and investments, while hollowing out and politicizing civil service divisions. In addition, it includes sweeping tariffs that the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities claims will “cost low- and moderate-income families hundreds if not thousands of dollars, more than offsetting whatever modest tax cuts they may receive from tax legislation.”

The rising tension between GOP members over the controversial budget and the recent battle over a petition allowing new mothers to vote by proxy is prompting Republican infighting. At one point, Rep. W. Gregory Steube (R-Fla.) called Speaker Johnson a liar and said, “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus!" according to three sources.

Republican messaging expert stunned at Trump calling Americans 'weak' and 'stupid'

Pollster and longtime conservative messaging guru Frank Luntz paused a moment after CNN news anchors asked him for his reaction to President Donald Trump’s calming words on the stock market.

“He's saying, quote, ‘Don't be weak. Don’t be stupid.' I mean, at some point, that patience must wear thin if the economy isn't trending in the right direction. How much patience do you think these voters will have?” asked CNN anchor Boris Sanchez.

Luntz challenged the circumstances of the statement: “So, I need to ask you a question: Did he actually say, ‘don't be stupid?’ Was that his language, his rhetoric?”

“It was a quote from the president,” Sanchez affirmed.

“Then that is a very bad thing to say. Voters do not like being told that they're stupid,” Luntz said. “If the president said, ‘don't rush, be patient. Good things happen in the long term,’ the public would have said, ‘I'll accept that. I’ll embrace that. you know, I’m a language person, and when he's saying, ‘don't be stupid,’ there will be a lot of voters in the center that will regard that as a criticism, an undeserved criticism.”

It is increasingly easier to spot true Conservative Republican's Vrs Magastan Folks

Vance joins enraged MAGA fans in lashing out at GOP senator Mitch McConnell calling him 'petty'. MAGA calling him a Traitor

Vice President JD Vance led a barrage of MAGA-inspired attacks against Sen. Mitch McConnell on Tuesday in a rare public rebuke of the former Republican leader over his refusal to support a key Pentagon nominee.

The war of words ignited shortly after McConnell found himself the lone Republican vote against Elbridge Colby, President Donald Trump’s selection to be the Defense Department’s top policy strategist.

“Make no mistake: America will not be made great again by those who are content to manage our decline,” McConnell said in a statement that was quickly circulated on social media.

“Mitch’s vote today—like so much of the last few years of his career—is one of the great acts of political pettiness I’ve ever seen,” Vance wrote in a social media post.

But the vice president was hardly the only figure inside MAGA world to lash out at McConnell.

“Elbridge Colby is one of the brightest foreign policy minds in the GOP and it's pathetic watching Mitch McConnell continue to stand with Dems to sabotage President Trump,” Kentucky businessman Nate Morris wrote on X. “This is why whoever replaces Mitch for Senate needs to represent a clean break from him - Time for a change!”

Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) replied to Vance’s post: “Glad things are changing.”

Far-right outlet Breitbart News referred to McConnell as “China-linked Senator Mitch McConnell” in an X post blasted to its followers.

“MITCH MCCONNELL IS A TRAITOR !!” MAGA follower David Hardin declared on X.

Donald Trump's Approval Rating Collapses

What To Know

The latest polls show that Trump's approval rating has reached its lowest point since he began his second term.

According to the latest Navigator Research poll, conducted between April 3-7 among 1,000 respondents, Trump's approval rating currently stands at 44 percent, while 53 percent disapprove, giving him a net approval of -9 points.

That represents a drop of 7 points since the pollster's previous survey, conducted in March, and a drop of 11 points from a survey conducted in early February, which found that 49 percent approved of the president's job performance, while 47 percent disapproved.

The latest polling from Cyganl also showed that Trump's approval rating has taken a hit since February. The latest poll, conducted between April 1-3 among 1,500 likely voters, showed that 47 percent approve of the president's job performance, while 51 percent disapprove. That is a major shift from a poll conducted in early February which put Trump's net approval rating at +2 points, with 50 percent approving and 48 percent disapproving.

Both polls had a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.

More bad news came for the president in the latest result from Rasmussen's daily tracker, which now shows Trump's approval rating at 47 points, while the negative sits at 51 points. That is Trump's lowest approval rating with the pollster yet since beginning his second term.

Newsweek's tracker also shows Trump's approval rating at its lowest level yet, with 46 percent approving and 51 percent disapproving.

Other surveys show that the decline in Trump's rating is mainly being driven by voters' dissatisfaction with the economy.

That was amplified last week when Trump announced his new program of "Liberation Day" tariffs, which included a 10-percent baseline tariff on all imports, including those from U.S. allies and non-economically active regions, along with higher rates for countries with large trade surpluses with the U.S.

what an embarrassment to our country and the office of the President!

Trading partners 'dying' to negotiate deals, says Trump

We can bring you a few more lines from Trump's speech at a Republican Party dinner last night.

Speaking about trading partners wanting to negotiate deals with the US in the wake of tariffs, he said China - which has been hit with 104% tariffs - "want to make a deal...they just don't know how to get it started".

Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan are among key Asian countries who are hoping to speak with the Trump administration about tariffs, with some facing up to 49% on goods imported to the US.

"I'm telling you these countries are calling us up, kissing my ass," he told the audience. "They are dying to make a deal."

JD Vance harshly fact-checked over 'monumental' new claim that 40% of people who contact the Social Security Admin via Telephone are committing Fraud. (its actually 0.0025%)

National Weather Service no longer translating products for non-English speakers

The National Weather Service is no longer providing language translations of its products, a change that experts say could put non-English speakers at risk of missing potentially life-saving warnings about extreme weather.

The weather service has “paused” the translations because its contract with the provider has lapsed, NWS spokesperson Michael Musher said. He declined further comment.

Lilt, an artificial intelligence company, began providing translations in late 2023, replacing manual translations that the weather service had said were labor-intensive and not sustainable. It eventually provided them in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, French and Samoan. The contract lapse comes as President Donald Trump’s administration is seeking to slash spending in federal agencies, including cuts within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that have led to high employee vacancy rates at NWS offices.

NOAA referred questions about the contract to a message on its website announcing the contract had lapsed. Lilt did not respond to requests for comment.

Nearly 68 million people in the U.S. speak a language other than English at home, including 42 million Spanish speakers, according to 2019 Census data.
