Trump 47

Right-wingers from the fringe to Fox News are rolling out a new argument in favor of Trump’s tariffs—they will help boost America’s masculinity by promoting the sort of backbreaking blue-collar work that their fathers did.

So wrestling with engine blocks to get them in place for assembly is still a thing in car and boat motor factories? But like it or not, robots are supposed to do the grunt work in the near future if not already.

Aren't car factories really automated? Robots are a lot more precise, efficient and consistent than people in manual work.

Reuters pay walls me for most articles nowadays so I can't read the details.

I'm assuming it's searching communications across government devices. If it's searching social media and looking for comments made as a private citizen and not tied back to the government or their position then that is super sketchy.

I have luck with cutting and pasting the url of paywalled articles into that archive system.

The President of the United States, sitting next to the Prime Minister of Israel, described a conversation he had with former hostages that were freed by Hamas. He asked them if they were treated kindly, given extra bread or meals, like he imagined the Nazis did for Jews in captivity.

I gather that Trump is a Holocaust denier. Surely, Zionists would like to set him straight.

You know what's great about trump? He never has concrete goals or agendas for anything he does. What are we trying to accomplish with tariffs, like real actionable goals and benchmarks? If there are no goals, you can claim victory whenever you want.

It's far easier to let Fox and the bootlickers perform the gymnastics to justify his stupid moves.

Yep. People knocked Harris because her plans weren't detailed enough. Trump gives no details and he's playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.

Historians will study the politics of this time period and ask the archeologists if everyone was eating lead paint.

Reporter: Peter Navarro guaranteed last night, no recession. Does the president agree with him on that?

Karoline Leavitt: We’re working hard now on the tariffs, but don’t forget the tax cuts and we’re counting Capitol Hill…

Reporter: Does that mean that without those tax cuts, the likelihood of a recession is greater?

Leavitt: That’s not what I said.

Q: 60 Minutes found 75% of the migrants who were sent to El Salvador do not have criminal records. That true?

BONDI: They're not Venezuelan migrants. They're illegal aliens from Venezuela who should not have been in our country

Q: So you're confirming they didn't commit a crime?

BONDI: *leaves*

Donald Trump is the spiritual answer to all your prayers

Trump pastor Larry Huch "can't believe how impatient Americans are" about the devastating impact of Trump's tariffs: "President Trump is a gift from God. He is an answer to prayer not only politically, but economically and spiritually."

Rand Paul: "The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you... I have a trade deficit with my grocery store"

The way I interpret Trump rejecting the EU offer is that he thinks the US needs a positive trade balance with every country, which is, quite frankly, insane. Like real bananas, delusional.

Even if it were possible to do, you'd have to 'unmake' the current world and particularly American society.

I'm gonna be straight with you all, I don't like where this is heading. Getting the zero for zero deal should have been what we were striving for. I thought 'there's no way he's actually going to try to right-size trade imbalances, this is one of his games'. But no, it seems that he is serious. Sends legitimate shivers up my spine.

We have the market swinging wildly right now with intra-day shifts in the billions of dollars. It can't take this stress forever and eventually the floor is gonna give out.
We are the richest country in the world
We also consume more of everything than country in the world

We can't have an even or surplus trade because of that.

LEGAL tax PAYING migrants are going to be Targeted for deportation because they DID IT THE RIGHT WAY

Breaking News: The IRS agreed to share information with ICE to help locate people for deportation, court records show. This is a fundamental change in the IRS, which had gained the trust of migrants and encouraged them to file their taxes.

Senator Mark Warner goes off on Jamieson Greer asking why we would tariff Australia: “Answer the question on Australia! We have a trade surplus with Australia! We have a free trade agreement! They are an incredibly important national security partner. Why were they whacked with a tariff?””

Elon Musk slammed President Trump’s top trade adviser, Peter Navarro, as “dumber than a sack of bricks” on Tuesday as tensions between the two exploded over wide-ranging tariffs that have upended the global economy.

WARNER: Can you explain how it helps natl security or our trade balance - I loved your fancy Greek formula which was bad math on steroids - how with a trade surplus Australia got hit with a 10% tariff as well?

GREER: Australia has the lowest rate available

WARNER: We have a trade surplus!

GREER: They ban our beef. They ban our pork.

Q: Over the weekend the president said he would be willing to have U.S. citizens deported to El Salvador. How would that work legally?

Karoline Leavitt: The president has said if it’s legal.

Between peoples 401k's being decimated and citizens being deported, I'm surprised there haven't been riots yet.

And then martial law of course
