Speaking of farm state republicans, being that DOGE wants to cut the federal government to the bone, why are we subsidizing crop insurance for farmers? Everyone else running a business pays their own insurance. Why can't farmers figure that out as part of their business model?

Just seems as usual, they want to cut the spending that they want to cut. There is no honesty, no principle, not backbone.
I am a rancher and I have gotten my fair share of farm payments from the FSA so understand where I am coming from, but farmers and ranchers are some of the biggest "welfare queens" I have ever met.

Chip Roy endorses impoundment (which is illegal): "All the powers our founders gave were invested in the executive, in the president. POTUS has the ability to go forward and say, 'we're gonna spend this money the way we're supposed to under the law.' There's no requirement he spend every dollar."

Thanks for the honesty.

I am a pure city boy and know nothing about it and figure there was some reason it started. But, the R's (mostly rural) are saying that this DOGE thing has to happen, even if there is collateral damage. Well, seems like a very easy place to have some collateral damage, pay your own insurance and save the taxpayer $101 billion dollars over the next decade.

But, for some strange reason, that isn't touched. I guess collateral damage has to be other people.

I have some family members that are living on a federal retirement. And, I figured my retirement if I had gotten their "deal" and it would be 50% higher than what I am getting. They are strong Trump supporters and always complaining about paying taxes. Seems crazy hypocritical to me. Karma would be if DOGE moved all Federal retirees onto the current system, but that won't happen.

The reasoning behind farm subsidies is in order to help ensure a safe and abundant food supply, which I think everyone wants. However, whether or not farm subsidies are actually necessary in order to ensure a safe and abundant food supply is certainly debatable. With that said, if the USA is going to tighten her belt, I think everyone should have to suffer a little bit, not just those that the current administration deems as undesirable.

I hope they mean the rare gases like neon krypton and xenon. Those are what Putin is capturing land for…
NPR report I heard yesterday said titanium and lithium. The Russian captured land has them, but there are several other large deposits in what are considered “safe” areas.

I think something similar happened to this guy. He took this job which was a promotion from his prior job so that put him on probation again. Same thing happened to me when I went from part-time to full-time they restarted my probationary period. Seemed stupid to me as I was doing the exact same job.
Restarting people to probation is such a weird thing to do to people that have been there for years. I'm sure it's normally not an issue, but when the administration is canning everyone in that category, seems not good

Do they actually not understand how the framers set up powers? The ignoring actual law crap is frustrating.

BREAKING 🚨 🚨 🚨

Trump administration wants to un-fire some nuclear safety workers but can’t figure out how to reach them

The individuals, who work in an agency that overseas the nation's nuclear stockpile, had been fired on Thursday.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz rebuked JD Vance for supporting a far-right party in Germany in a speech in Munich and accused the United States government of breaking its 80-year commitment to "never again" allow Germany to be led by fascists who could repeat the horrors of the Holocaust.

An ENEMY of AMERICA couldn't have done this much damage to the nuclear readiness and capability outside of assassinating all of these people at the same time somehow

China and Russia and North Korean will rejoice this moment and possibly take advantage of it

Multiple government officials are telling ABC News that America is now facing a "national security crisis" because President Donald Trump's administration has fired hundreds of National Nuclear Security Administration employees.

The Trump administration has suggested to Ukraine that the U.S. be granted 50% ownership of the country’s rare earth minerals, and signaled an openness to deploying American troops there to guard them if there’s a deal with Russia to end the war, four U.S. officials say.

This stupid idea interferes with Trump's better idea to cut military spending by 50% if Russia and China will join in with cuts of their own.

After the many thousands of Russian troops that have been killed, I wouldn't be surprised that Russia feels owed more than 50% of Ukraine's rear earth minerals.

I want to continue to remind everyone that President Trump pardoned those who injured those who protected Congress on January 6.
I think that this should be repeated the point that it is automatic fact just as 2 + 2= 4.

Good reminder, while you're remembering those criminals, also remember the hundreds of people who were locked up for doing absolutely nothing wrong.
