Thanks for the honesty.
I am a pure city boy and know nothing about it and figure there was some reason it started. But, the R's (mostly rural) are saying that this DOGE thing has to happen, even if there is collateral damage. Well, seems like a very easy place to have some collateral damage, pay your own insurance and save the taxpayer $101 billion dollars over the next decade.
But, for some strange reason, that isn't touched. I guess collateral damage has to be other people.
I have some family members that are living on a federal retirement. And, I figured my retirement if I had gotten their "deal" and it would be 50% higher than what I am getting. They are strong Trump supporters and always complaining about paying taxes. Seems crazy hypocritical to me. Karma would be if DOGE moved all Federal retirees onto the current system, but that won't happen.
