The White House was reportedly shocked when Hegseth’s personal lawyer—tasked with overseeing an investigation into a series of Pentagon leaks—told them a warrantless wiretap was used to find classified documents on the phone of Hegseth’s then–senior adviser Dan Caldwell.

Border Czar Got Payments From Detention Center
May 27, 2025 Trump Administration, Trump Corruption

The Washington Post reports:

A leader of the Trump administration’s effort to detain and deport millions of immigrants recently earned consulting fees from a detention center company that is expected to benefit financially from the crackdown, according to a federal ethics filing.

Before he joined the administration, border czar Tom Homan earned an undisclosed amount in fees consulting for a division of the GEO Group, one of two companies that operates the vast majority of the nation’s immigrant detention facilities, according to the disclosure, which was released last week.

The filing, which has not been previously reported, did not specify what work Homan performed. The document said GEO paid him more than $5,000 during the two years preceding his government appointment in January. Ethics rules do not require any more specific disclosure, and the amount Homan received could be far higher.

Australian Wife of US Army officer detained, arrested and deported trying to visit her husband in Hawaii. She had visited in the past before with no issues

When I did say that I was married to somebody in the U.S. Army, the officers laughed at me. They thought it was quite comical. I don’t know whether they thought I was telling the truth or not,” she said.

“They kept telling me that I had too many clothes in my suitcase. So because of that, they assumed that I was going to overstay my visa,” she said.

Saroukos was subject to more screening. Her fingerprints and a DNA swab of her mouth were taken.

Meanwhile, her mother was free to go.

Saroukos said her heart sank when officials told her she would be declined entry to the U.S. and deported back to Australia the next day.

Military wife detained, deported at Honolulu airport

That is something to this tbh. One thing about Harvard is they send out better legal minds than anyone. Im guessing most of the legal community isn't exactly thrilled with the current administration, so they probably won't be able to attract the best of the best in a courtroom.

So if all of this goes in front of a judge, you will have one side that is clearly more talented than the other and almost certainly has the law on their side. And its in front of a judge who is likely not really willing to change decades or even centuries of legal precident because the president is having a temper tantrum. This might be pretty fun to watch until the administration says screw it we aren't going to abide by this ruling.

BREAKING: Judge Richard J. Leon has just struck down Trump’s executive order targeting law firm WilmerHale: “I have concluded that this order must be struck down in its entirety as unconstitutional. Indeed, to rule otherwise would be unfaithful to the judgment and vision of the Founding Fathers!"
