I can imagine the conversation that would make it strictly legal, but still despicable IMO.

Mom and Dad, we’re deporting you today….immediately.

Now your 10 year old was born here so some say she has a right to stay….that’s a subject of litigation right now. Let’s…for the sake of argument….say she has a right to stay….but you don’t.

We know you’ve been going back and forth the border to get her treatment….going back to Mexico. That stops now.

So you have a choice to make because you’re being deported and won’t be coming back.

You can leave your daughter here when we deport her. She’ll have to go into the child welfare system, you won’t have any control over where she goes, and I gotta be honest with you she’s probably not gonna get her treatment if that happens anyways.

So….out of the goodness of our hearts…if you want to take her with you back to Mexico….we won’t charge you the cost of her transportation.

It’s your choice. Tell us right now which one you choose.

If these reports are accurate, the truly despicable part is these people had crossed to border to get treatment multiple times and THEN WENT HOME TO MEXICO each time.

This action isn’t doing anything to addresse the illegal immigration problem of undocumented aliens coming here and staying. All it does is keep a 10 year old girl from getting needed treatment to set up an example or test case of action against a US Citizen who happens to be a child to undocumented aliens in the country.

Authoritatian bullying of a 10 year old U.S. Citizen for no good reason other than they can.

I was asking with the general thought but yes in this case there is 0 reason to do this. They are literally just "visiting" the country short term, no different legally than any tourist.

I thought we were going after gang members and other violent criminals. Not innocent 10yo girls getting medical treatment
