It's not realistic': Oklahoma superintendents say finding millions for free lunches just isn't possible
If Deer Creek Public Schools eliminated its superintendent and every principal in the district, it would still be $4.5 million short of providing these meals, according to the superintendent.
Seems like long ago there used to be County School Superintendents. How about abolishing 551 school superintendents and have 77 County School Superintendents? But the superintendents in the smallest counties wouldn't be paid as much as the superintendents in the biggest counties.
I would vote for option #3: Pay classroom teachers more.
And as Superintendent, he actually has the accountability to create a strategy to reduce administration and direct funds closer to students…but he never has.

He has not declared his candidacy yet so until he does he has to keep his name in the news. This stunt is campaign bait without having to pay for it.
A true leader would have used statistical data to compile a list of schools w the biggest gap between free and paid lunches and matched that up w district family per capita income. This would be one way of seeing which schools have the biggest need. Then behind the scenes work w the school admin, school board, school counselor/nurse/lunch specialist. Also include teenage leaders in the school. Come up w a cost analysis and plan. Seek out local faith leaders and non profit leaders as well as nearest food bank leadership. Actually solve the problem.
Ryan like most magastani’s doesn’t care about the kids or solving the problem. It’s just a me first approach and it sucks.
