My buddy and local Irish pub owner, Sean Cummings, finally got to speak directly to Ryan Walters at the Board of Education meeting today.
It was pretty epic if you ask me.

My daughter works at McNellie's and it is walking distance from our place so that is my usual Irish Pub. But, I'm now gonna have to give this guy's place a visit or two.My buddy and local Irish pub owner, Sean Cummings, finally got to speak directly to Ryan Walters at the Board of Education meeting today.

What next? Red state schools should have the right to expel students who claim to be LGBTQ+? It could be feared they might have enough influence to turn straight students gay. And what if straight students have gay parents? Should they be expelled, too? Once again, I'd be more worried about what makes students want to shoot up schools. This is going to be fun to circle back to later... View attachment 12437
I'm talking more about the inevitable crying he's going to do when parents opt their kids out his Bible lessons - I mean new social studies standards. What next? Ryan,Did he get inspiration from Kristi Noem and Kari Lake for this one?

And he doesn’t have authority to dictate budget lines in school budgets. So kids get free lunch but to pay for it schools are just going to have to deal with it?
And Im guessing the school year budgets are already set.
With all these cuts, we might as well be in a recession. My heart is breaking…I read an email from our school superintendent that our State School Superintendent in Oklahoma does not intend to fund school lunches and that all costs associated with school lunches will be absorbed by each district resulting in a 5 million deficit our district did not plan for. In the same breath we are told that Trump is withholding 6.8 billion dollars in federal funding for public school

A lot of parents received this email from Ryan Walters today and I just want to take a moment to address some misinformation.
School meals are healthy! Period. Mandating MAHA standards that are not based in science only increases the school meal cost, NOT the nutritional value. (Sidenote: Walters mandates more local foods but Trump just cut the Local School Foods program this spring
).
I’m an advocate of free school meals for all. It would be amazing! But it should come from a legislative process and a state approved budget, the burden should not be placed on districts who are already financially strapped.
Even if Piedmont (the district I live in) cut ALL administrator salaries and made them all work for free, it still would not be enough money to cover the cost of the districts meals. Ryan Walters is a liar, straight up.
Very few districts make a profit from school meals, most are scrambling to break even. But childhood hunger is a serious problem (1 in 4 Oklahoma children are food insecure) and school meals are a solution! We shouldn’t be making cost and access a higher burden.

Ryan Walters is supporting Taxation without Representation??What a prick... I can't wait for karma to come knocking for these human pieces of garbage...
