Was hard to see on the TV replay, did Ginther send him there? If so, awful 3rd base coaching. He's not on his own there as the ball is behind him so either Ginther sent him or he ran through a stop sign.

Bet he saw the ball skip up and thought it got to the outfield. He never looked at the ball or the coach. Probably didn’t realize the shift had a 2nd baseman right behind the first baseman. Now plate obstruction is a valid argument…..
