This season as a sophomore at Iowa, Harding averaged 8.8 points and 5.3 assists per game and shot 40% from 3.

This season as a sophomore at Iowa, Harding averaged 8.8 points and 5.3 assists per game and shot 40% from 3.

The guy is a stats lovers dream. He only played 25 mpg for Iowa this year, but his per 40 minutes stats are insane. As in he averages 14 pts and 9 assists, he shoots it at high percentages (55/40/75), and even though he’s on the smaller size he averages 2.5 steals per 40 minutes and has a good defensive box +\-.

All while playing high level competition in the Big 10. Turnovers are a bit of a knock, but he is a playmaker so that is to be somewhat expected. He would pair as a great tandem with Dean (if we are able to keep him) and I believe the PG position would be stronger than it has been this past year. And that is how we are going to get better, position by position across the board.

Apparently team meetings happened yesterday and today.

From what I understand the following will happen. Things change obviously but I think there is a full on philosophy change happening with Lutz. Still want to run man, but realizing we need length.

Dean is a good player who only got better under this staff. I’d hate to lose him. I just don’t think replacing double digit players every single year is a realistic way to sustain success.

From what I understand it’s to get a “fair market value” and Dean wants to play with his brother Mister Dean. And wants to get paid.

Hoping they realize the opportunity and comeback.

From my perspective, a complete overhaul is the only correct direction after the conclusion of the season. I've stated such countless times in nearly every game thread during the season. It was pretty obvious then, and Lutz is doing the right thing.

Our starters should have been bench riders. And it's obvious that they needed to move on and allow portal transfers. A complete overhaul is desperately needed.

The problem is we can’t afford to get any tournament stars. We will be outbid. So we have to settle for several $25-50k average players. Would not be fun to be a coach in any sport. Literally bide your time, last as long as you can in the NIL world then retire early. It’s sickening. Every player on every team wants to play the NIL lottery. I just don’t see how we get any momentum with fund raising
