I have been critical of Bryce in the past and agree that he won’t continue at a 90% clip from 3.
My observation is that Bryce is not an elite explosive athlete. He doesn’t blow by w his first bounce. He doesn’t create space w quick footwork. He doesn’t elevate quickly nor does he jump over you for his shot.
Boynton structure required all of those things. High ball screens. Wing isos. No off side movement or down screens to free up shooters.
Bryce had to put the ball on the floor to try and get to his shot and then rise above w a fade to get a look. That’s not his tool box and Boynton never figured that out. When he was on those contested shots fell but when he was slightly off he fell off.
Teams will get film of our new sets. They will figure out how to make looks more difficult for Bryce. Boynton never adjusted. If Lutz does Bryce will have more 16-24 point nights than 4-8 point nights.He will also have fewer liveball give aways.
