Please explain power rankings to me. What determines them?

Eye test.

My understanding it is how the teams are playing right now. It doesn't factor in as much what happened 6 weeks ago and does not factor in what a team is ranked by other sources. Purely subjective...just like our polls.

Power rankings are just like every college football poll - whoever puts it out uses their own criteria, which is completely changeable based on the narrative they're trying to weave.
