OSU vs Houston Official Game Thread

For the 2nd half we had moved over to the southwest corner to get some shade. There was 1 solitary dude sitting in Sec 232, Sec 231 was totally empty. Then 2 guys show up and start swinging their shirts around. Then 2 more, then 5-6 more. By then you could see more coming from all over the stadium, some walking and some at a full sprint (nearly as fast as our DBs). Age range was around 8 to 48, BAC range 0 to 2.2-ish. Eventually there were nearly 2.5 sections worth of shirtless going wild and dragging the rest of the 20,000 or so with them. Even had some semi-organized chants going, i.e. "refs you suck" and "take it off, " which I assumed was for the coeds walking by.

As hoopspride said above, I was expecting at least 2 full sections of shirtless for HC vs Cincy. Then I remembered all the frats and sororities will be jamming the student section, likely putting quite a damper on the shirtless.
They need to cancel homecoming or change the rules on winning homecoming. If the Greeks don’t come to the game stay at the game they should be disqualified

Listen, it’s one thing to stay up all night for basically 2 nights to watch a team that is somewhat competitive and a whole other thing to do the same for a team that absolutely sucks. Being not too far removed from those days, I’ve got sympathy for staying through the awards and then getting some sleep. The shirtless men didn’t start their thing until the 2nd half anyway.

If you’re loyal and true you show up. We did and have for a long time. Game attendance needs to be part of the contest

“Then getting some sleep” is laughable. They leave to go party.

Bingo. It’s not just on the students but on all of the season ticket holders who did not attend yesterday either.

You're not wrong, but while I was there until the final 2.5 min, I really don't fault anyone who chose not to sit out there. It was effing hot, especially on the north side, where my tickets are. There was an occasional breath of wind, but not much. The past 2 games my wife has made a little more than a quarter before going down under the seats, then we spent the second half moving around the southwest corner in the shade. If people chose not to show up to watch really bad football in this heat, I'm not going to question their "loyalty and true(ness)." Hopefully, they'll still renew their tickets next year and show up for a better product.

My tickets are on the south side, so we don’t cook quite as bad. I understand the not showing up for a bad product, which our football team is reduced to. I have never understood the Homecoming thing being made such a big deal (I’ve had two girls and a boy in the Greek system) when there is no accountability on football crowd participation. My daughters gave me the same reaction
