Oregon vs Oklahoma State Football - Anyone coming to Eugene?

Oregon has some beautiful colors of the trees and craft beers; but I don’t envision myself making the trip.

Typically? Yes. Especially to a new place like Eugene. But with how last year went and what seems to be a prevailing “we’re going to get pummeled” attitude. Not sure what to expect this trip.
Well if some of you are coming I'm more than willing to share info to make your visit more pleasant.... that is up until game time, then it's game on.

For the golfers, a side trip to Bandon Dunes might make the trip worth while.

If I was making the trip, Bandon would be an absolute must. But it’s 25 years this year with the Mrs and she chose to spend all the monies on that trip. 😂

Yea, I get it. I'm on 48 years. You guys are just getting started together. Think of all the times you can disagree about how many pillows to put on the bed. Is it 5? 7? 9? 11? Just know it's an odd number. Of course the sooner you agree with her the sooner you'll get to Bandon.

The heck with raft, no reason to take the fly rod out of your hand unless grabbing a cold one! Go POkes!
I rowed my own boat for about 30 years, tied my own flies, built my own rods, you get the picture. And by the way some of the best local flyfishing for rainbows starts just after labor day.

Every golfer should try to play the courses at Bandon at least once. High season will set you back somewhere between $370 - $420 for the first round. Good news is the 2nd round of the day is half price.

First time I played the original course, just after it opened it was $75, then 37.50 and free for the 3rd round of the day.

I haven't been to an away game in years but I think the distance is more of a factor than last year's results tbh. Fans who travel largely go for the experence not necessarily based on whether we expect to win. I think it will a decent OSU crowd but not like a bowl game or a game that is reasonable driving distance.

I went to the OSU vs Washington State game played at the Seattle Seahawks stadium in 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Pacific Northwest (four days total)! The Seahawks stadium was a great facility and Seattle back then was a little tamer and not so woke like today and I would probably not go back there in today’s environment!!! 🤔

The origins of the term "woke'" relates to paying attention to social injustice. That's not a bad thing in my view. Today it seems to have become a devisive term politicized as a derogatory term. Note: you probably wouldn't enjoy Eugene if you think Seattle is "woke". Eugene is a very tolerant community of many varieties, from Proud Boys to Antifa and back again.

Maybe check out the "Oregon Country Fair" that takes place just outside of Eugene.

Just a friendly reminder to keep the politics/culture war topics in the Politics board. Thank you!
