Oklahoma is going backwards

Is oklahoma really 600 short? That's like almost 8/county
Thanks for being a critical thinker. Admittedly, my only source is from a rather obscure Republican woman, Leisa Mitchell Haynes, who is running for governor of Oklahoma. She talked of a shortage of highway patrol troopers during her speech before a meeting of Payne County Republicans over a month ago. I can no longer find a recording of that meeting, which I had originally found of the FB page of the Chairman of Payne County Republicans. She also said the Oklahoma panhandle may not even have any highway patrol troopers.

Elsewhere, she has said God told her in third grade that she would be a governor. For now, God sent an angel to her last August to say, "Now is the time. Write your plan and get ready". It will be interesting to see if this person who is hearing things comes in last place in the 2026 primary.

Seems like a solid and reliable source.

Early voting has started in Oklahoma’s State Senate District 8 special election with the Election Day on May 13. And Republican candidate Bryan Logan wants to repeal the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

That's is just one of a bunch of other things he wants to repeal. But no doubt, Logan will easily win since this is a general election in a very rural district. His only other opponents are a Democrat and an independent. It will be interesting to see how huge his margin of victory will be. Logan had beat 5 other Republicans.

To make it less easy for extremists to win, that proposed state question needs to pass that puts everybody on a single ballot for each race in the primary. Either that or change party registration, if needed, to Republican to vote for the one who's least extremist in the primary.
