Thanks for being a critical thinker. Admittedly, my only source is from a rather obscure Republican woman, Leisa Mitchell Haynes, who is running for governor of Oklahoma. She talked of a shortage of highway patrol troopers during her speech before a meeting of Payne County Republicans over a month ago. I can no longer find a recording of that meeting, which I had originally found of the FB page of the Chairman of Payne County Republicans. She also said the Oklahoma panhandle may not even have any highway patrol troopers. Is oklahoma really 600 short? That's like almost 8/county
Seems like a solid and reliable source. Thanks for being a critical thinker. Elsewhere, she has said God told her in third grade that she would be a governor. For now, God sent an angel to her last August to say, "Now is the time. Write your plan and get ready". It will be interesting to see if this person who is hearing things comes in last place in the 2026 primary.
That's is just one of a bunch of other things he wants to repeal. But no doubt, Logan will easily win since this is a general election in a very rural district. His only other opponents are a Democrat and an independent. It will be interesting to see how huge his margin of victory will be. Logan had beat 5 other Republicans.Early voting has started in Oklahoma’s State Senate District 8 special election with the Election Day on May 13. And Republican candidate Bryan Logan wants to repeal the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

So, you're guilty of being woke if you care about arts, culture, education, animal wellbeing, environmental conservation, and historic preservation. Those issues of the Kirkpatrick Foundation collide with many anti-woke Oklahomans who think it's far more important to focus on being pro-God, pro-Gun, anti-Gay and anti-Abortion.

The replies to this from all the fellow Okies makes me realize we are in fact living in Idiocracy.
With little surprise, Logan won by 62% of the vote.He needs asked questions like if he is a Christian Nationalist? If so, does he support turning Oklahoma public education over to churches and homeschoolers? Does the sound of turning Oklahoma into an Old Testament Theocracy appeal to him. Oklahoma may be short as many as 600 highway patrol troopers. Would he support making state government smaller by abolishing the highway patrol and give responsibility of patrolling the highways to sheriff departments and city police?
He could be gay himself and being a church pastor speaking hatefully against gays is his mentally sick and disgusting way of living with it. If true, he probably verbally bullied guys while in school who he was sexually attracted to, such as telling them that their faces were ugly. So, this pastor could be one of the biggest closet cases in Oklahoma City. Every town has them. I shockingly heard that one of them as a little boy was known to pull a buggy with a doll in it up and down the street he lived on. So now I wonder if that pastor played with dolls as a little kid. Fortunately, not every little boy who plays with dolls goes on to be widely known to hate all the gays in the world as an adult.
Big brands are staying quiet this Pride Month

Companies are treading lightly, avoiding prominent campaigns and visible public support. Thirty-nine percent say they plan to scale back public Pride Month engagements this year, according to a survey of more than 200 corporate executives by Gravity Research, a risk management advisory. That includes sponsoring Pride events, posting supportive messages of LGBTQ rights on social media and selling Pride-themed merchandise.
Consumer brands are wary of provoking right-wing customers and activists, and they fear reprisals from President Donald Trump’s administration. Federal agencies have threatened to investigate companies with diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
