Without the domestic violence case, adding Troxel to the staff would’ve been a big, positive story for the program. I mean he was considered a brilliant basketball mind and trained WNBA legend Diana Taurasi.

There was no announcement from the school that Troxel had been added to the staff.

He doesn’t even appear on the roster on okstate.com.

But he was on the bench sitting right beside Coach Hoyt during the NCAA tournament games.

The silence tells us they know an announcement would cause controversy.

It also now makes sense why the team was able to meet with Diana Taurasi and her wife, Penny Taylor, when the Cowgirls were in Arizona for the Arizona and Arizona State games.

So do we think this has something to do with the transfers?

Doubt we will ever know but something more than NIL is up when a whole team minus 1 ups and leaves. Cowboy Code is certainly taking some interesting turns.

Hoyt knew something was brewing but seemed to underestimate it

“If you look at what we’re returning, we’re in really, really good shape,” Hoyt said. “With that, a lot of people are going to come and try to tear what we have apart. I hope that our kids and the bond that they have, the sisterhood that we have built and their vision for what we can continue to do will be strong enough to overcome all that.

“I hope and pray that we can keep them together. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of noises, a lot of voices, a lot of things that are very worldly pulling at them. I hope that they choose to be uncommon and choose a path for themselves that not a lot of kids choose.”

With the time period to begin recruiting players out of the transfer portal just around the corner, on Monday, Hoyt said she hopes her team is able to savor its accomplishments from this season and hopes to keep the roster turnover limited.

“There’s a lot of talk,” Hoyt said. “A lot of conversation and it’s important for us to recruit our own team right now. (We’ll) take some time and soak in all the good things that we have to celebrate this season. It’s really hard to do what we did. So just enjoying and appreciating that, but also looking forward as well.”

Unfortunately for Hoyt, a pair of Cowgirls, Macey Huard and Favour Onoh, entered their names in the transfer portal on Wednesday. and then more

She definitely knew. Crazy. Almost like she's starting over from scratch except for Stailee.
