Official Game Thread of Disappointment: OSU vs Tulsa

This college football season really sucks.

ou wins again, Auburn gets hosed on several calls and no calls. How they overturned the fumble Auburn returned for a TD is beyond me. Then ou, against the rules, deceptively sends a WR to the sideline only to stand at the edge and not get covered for a TD. Repeated no calls on PI.

Jackson Arnold got sacked 10 times, mostly not the fault of his Oline, but instead him hanging on to the ball for 5 seconds.

Hopefully Texas can get their offense together before that game in a couple weeks.

That was a total joke. Explanation for that being legal has to be priceless.

Yeah, the sideline reporter asked the official about it during a timeout and he basically acknowledged they just missed it. He said they just knew the player never fully left the field. An ou reporter near the Auburn sideline said they were absolutely furious.

OU distributed $32 million.
The 32 mil was all sports and that is what ou reported so likely a bit inflated. I think some of these schools put out these bigger numbers just as a recruiting tool to try to say they’re paying the most. The 247 estimates I saw for football showed ou just outside the top 10 at around 15-16mil for 2025. Still double what we are but more realistic. Assuming OSU’s football is 7-8mil as has been reported, that’s only 1-2mil outside of the top 25. Not the disparity a lot of people make it out to be against most of our competition.

Good info!

NIL is a factor in the downfall, but not the main. The main has been complacency, and years of it. When there were glaring issues and deficiencies, Gundy and many fans stuck their head in the sand and said “well we won 8 games, went to a bowl, all is good.” Letting assistant coaches hang around far too long, hiring unqualified candidates, etc. As changes were rapidly happening with transfer portal and NIL, Gundy stuck to the program building “culture” model which is dead in FBS. Shoot, Gundy was still talking about last night “what we’ve done the last 19 years.”

I know absolutely NOBODY cares but its similar to what is going on with the St. Louis Cardinals right now. Glory years from 2005 to 2015. Ownership got complacent for years. Just now admitting that it’s time to rebuild. Steelers similar but more in regards to the head coach. If your are fan of all three like me might i suggest carpooling to therapy? I know you can’t really compare pro sports and college but I just wanted someone to listen to me because I’m sad.

I get it! Plenty of examples you can point to like this though the years.

I guess we’re just going to try to pretend that comment never happened. 😂
Oregon 41; Oregon State 7. Looked like a pretty sound ass-whipping for the “Civil War” rivalry game.
Stats show it wasn’t as close as the score looked.

Nope, it’s my bad. Got trapped at DFW when the entire airport was shut down yesterday and turned my 7 hour trip into a 30 hour trip.

Went through Houston today and a guy commented on it. Didn’t realize the team he’d seen was UNT.

Don’t spend the night in the airport 🥴
