I really hope we keep JBC on staff as a coach in some manner. I thought he was excellent in his role at coaching the DL.

not sure why Belichick is on this OSU OC/DC thread, but whatev.... not sure if he is a good coach or not...at NE, he had 18 years of double digit wins out of 19 total (95%) with Brady...at NE, he had 1 year of double digit wins out of 5 years (20%) without Brady - add Clev. yrs in that and it's 2 years of double digit wins out of 10. (20%)...
I'm still holding out that it is a sign we are digging deep to bring in a really big time hire and it's taking time to get all the "i"s crossed and "t"s dotted

That’s a very reasonable perspective on the issue. I hope there is significant homework and thought being put into this and an extreme effort to get the absolute best candidate that would cause players to want to play in our offense!

just an idea (which we've used before): have we looked at all DIII colleges? especially ones that did poorly with scoring averages...cuz they either need a job or there will not be much competition to get them...Manchester, Oberlin, Eureka, Albright, Luther Norse, Millikan, Dean, Hilbert, just to name a few...
I think we may have the guy but he is still coaching, i.e., in the playoffs so no announcements to be made. I can dream, can't I?

Anyways sorry about derailing this thing.
I just want an answer. We're pretty much guaranteed someone who at least isn't a head scarcher. I feel like we won't make much portal progress until that happens and we really need a talent upgrade if we don't want to repeat last season.
