You think this is a reasonable, well thought out foreign policy?
Yes, its been discussed as a viable strategy in lieu of a ground invasion for a bit now. Its not like we are blocking all boats; we are just blocking the ones that Iran wasn't (the ones carrying their product). This virtually gives us the same leverage as taking their Oil Islands without having to fire a shot.
And make no mistake, I'd rather we never started this, we are here and this is absolutely the best next step. I don't know how many weeks Iran can last if they themselves cannot use the straight.

All they have to do is pose a credible threat and it will jogjam ships flying under western flags.

A) Launching Tomahawks at the “oil islands”
B) Using US navy as a floating blockade and boarding tankers likely secured by Iranian military
