Trump 'nowhere near' to making decision on troop deployment BBC

Donald Trump tells, external the New York Post he is "nowhere near" making a decision on whether to order US troops into Iran.

Asked whether he would consider sending soldiers into the country to secure its stockpile of uranium, Trump says: "We haven't made any decision on that. We're nowhere near it."

He also repeats that he is "not happy" with Mojtaba Khamenei being elected as supreme leader.

(*I am just as surprised as you are donald...thought the people who are running for cover would simply overthrow their government...)

In a heated Fox & Friends segment, co-host Brian Kilmeade argued that Americans stranded in the Middle East amid escalating U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran largely have themselves to blame, having ignored repeated government evacuation warnings. Co-host Ainsley Earhardt pushed back, noting many were there for essential jobs, not tourism, highlighting the personal responsibility debate in the crisis.

FOX News host Lawrence Jones refers to discussions around rising oil and gas prices as ‘propaganda.’ Jones urged Democrats not to focus on rising gas prices because “that’s what Iran wants.”

Macron orders 'unprecedented' naval deployment to Strait of Hormuz

Link via The Telegraph
Emmanuel Macron has ordered an “unprecedented” naval deployment in the Middle East to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

France will deploy eight frigates, two amphibious helicopter carriers and the country’s flagship Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier.

“We aim to guarantee freedom of navigation and maritime ‌security,” Mr Macron said during a visit to a military air base in Cyprus.

Iran’s attacks in the Strait of Hormuz have all but stopped tankers from using the key shipping lane, through which a fifth of the world’s oil is carried, causing global energy prices to soar.

The French vessels are expected to join US forces aiming to reopen the narrow passageway choking the world’s oil supplies.
