I think the toppling of this Iranian regime has been in the plans for several administrations. This is a continuation of the protection of a western led global order established after WWII. So was Korea, Vietnam, Central America, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Venezuela, etc.
In the past, these were sold as "stopping the spread of communism" or the "war on terror." The truth is harder to sell to the American people that we are in fact the law enforcement arm of a rules based international order. The list of countries that don't fall in line include those I just listed all the way up to Russia and China. Who we will have conflict with in the future. I'm also sure that these military operations are a flex to both.
Rising and falling superpowers have been jostling for position for the past 80 years. This is all part of it.
Western-style liberal democracy is highly preferable, I just wish of course that they didn't use war so often to protect it. I don't know. This is just me typing as I think.

The sad thing about him trawling the MAGAsphere for support is that he adopts arguments that aren't even historically accurate....in fact WILDLY INCORRECT.
The picture of people protesting war with Hitler almost certainly shows members of the America First Committee.
America First....ring a bell for modern times?
Anyways.....the most prominent members of the America First Committee were:
Charles Lindbergh......REPUBLICAN.
General Robert E. Wood.....REPUBLICAN.
Henry Ford....ran for Senate as a REPUBLICAN in 1918, lost the primary and ran in the General Election as a Democrat. Won the 1916 Presidential primary in Michigan as a REPUBLICAN. Also threw his support behind Calvin Coolidge....a REPUBLICAN.
And there is the simple fact that it was a Democrat President that declared war on Hitler and advocated for the Lend Lease agreement with Britain and wanted to be in the war with Britain well before we actually declared war on Japan and Germany.
He's not even making his own arguments. He's just cutting and pasting his compatriots from the MAGAsphere.

As a non-religious person, of course I don't like this rationale for why right now is a good time to start what is turning out to be at a minimum a regional war with the potential to spread.
But, when looking at the other options:
1. Epstein distraction by the prez
2. Epstein requirement (Israel blackmail on the prez)
3. They rapidly rebuilt their "obliterated"nuclear program
4. The world's best negotiator could not negotiate with them
5. Putin 3 Trump 1 in the dictator takeover game.
6. 47 years of funding terrorism is ok, but we just can't get to 48.
Honestly, hoping to cajole Jesus into a friendly visit isn't really even bottom of the list.

When it comes to elected officials, I agree with you that AIPAC funding is pretty bipartisan with around 80% of elected officials on the take.
When it comes to the base, AIPAC is very unpopular amongst registered dems and a majority of independents.
