Are we sure that he is inept or this was his plan to get 25 mil dollars?Problem is, we have to endure at least another season of this garbage before they would even consider making any changes. I cannot believe he makes $7.6M and is this completely inept.
100% where I am. The cycinc in me wants to post similar things about being complacent and comfortable. The realist in me says there is no way this is deliberate but then we’re right back to your first sentence. What the hell is going on?!?I agree its "bad", but what on Earth is going on, here? How can a guy making this much money that knows this much about football and coaches a D1 program answer questions in this manner? Someone make this make sense.
Like.......this almost comes across as him being deliberately obtuse or petty for some reason.
Its like he's saying *fart noises* to everyone right now. Seems like he doesn't give af.

I have never until this point made my feelings regarding Gundy personal. I went most of the years liking him personally, believing he had a hard ceiling at just below going to the CFP, and that's pretty much the best we could hope for. Maybe we'd have a few "down" seasons of 7 wins ala 2014, but we were always gonna bounce back ala 2021 and at least go to a NY7 bowl from time-to-time. I have radically changed my view between then and now.I truly believe gundy wants to retire with his severance of $25mil dollars buyout. He knows it will get bad enough for someone to step up and get rid of him
If he names his FCS-level son the starter expect both Rangel and Flores to hit the portal. And good luck with recruiting elite level QB's after that. That said, I fully expect the buffoon to name his son the starter. Drive the program further into the abyss for another couple of years before riding off into the sunset.Unless he names gundy or Rangel the starter. We are in for a 2 year qb battle in which 3 qbs will play. Next year will be gundy, Rangel, and Flores. Assuming Rangel stays.
I agree. His only option is to name bowman starter, and run this qb battle back next year. Or name Rangel starter. And then see if Flores can beat him out in the spring. But I agree, his son has played the most snaps of any one and it’s a joke. A normal coach would have named bowman starter and given him these 3 games to see what he can do. And if it wasn’t good, gone back to Rangel. But then again he’s so clueless he doesn’t even give Gordon the ball. He will also be gone, why would anyone want to come and play 1/3 of the snaps when they can go somewhere and get the vast majority of them.If he names his FCS-level son the starter expect both Rangel and Flores to hit the portal. I believe so.Can one just walk in to Rib Crib to attend Head Fraud Mike Gundy’s show?
Time to call a club meeting folks. Every Monday night, Rib Crib in Stilly. Bring your signs, bring your contempt, be ready to laugh at him every time he opens his mouth. Time to wear him out.I believe so.
I want Gundy gone, but just... no.Find the cause and Tucker him out:

Contracts have two sides, always. Unless Gundy's contract specifically states he doesn't have to put effort into maintaining the team, then any goal like what you are describing would be fraud.I am starting to believe this dream but will get more confirmation as the season plays out
Well he is going to “try” or atleast say the right things to make it look that way.Contracts have two sides, always. Unless Gundy's contract specifically states he doesn't have to put effort into maintaining the team, then any goal like what you are describing would be fraud.
In a nutshell: He doesn't have to win, but he has to at least try. Any action he takes that seems intentionally harmful to our program could blow up in his face (legally).

Wait, is that true? His contract has no end date? That’s insane. If OSU fires HCMG, he is owed over $25 million. What university can afford that? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that number doesn't go down over time. From what I understand, he's on a perpetual, rolling contract.
"Gundy’s salary will increase by $125,000 each year that he remains under contract beginning on Jan. 1, 2022, and continue until the termination of the contract, which is a perpetual, rolling five-year agreement — meaning a year is added to the contract at the completion of each year."Wait, is that true?
