This is what I’ve been saying since NIL has been a thing. Coaches salaries should the last thing the AD should be concerned with. Most budgeting should be going into the players. Not the coaching. Most NFL staffs are paid roughly 10% compared to what is paid to all the players on the team. We absolutely need to adopt that model.

Kind of amazing how upside down the college football model became in this regard. Coaches are gonna look back and laugh because they made out like bandits for a 20 year stretch there. Hell we had $600k tied in Gunter Brewer & Trooper Taylor when no coordinator was making a million $, & Gundy was calling the plays!

I’m interested to see what happens moving forward with the massive buyouts too. The Jimbo Fisher deal, now Kentucky is on the hook for $38 million with Stoops.

The qualities that should be prioritized in the hire having "cultural fit/ties to OSU" as the lowest certainly goes against the perception that fans want someone with OSU ties. Hopefully the administration feels the same way and acts accordingly.
