Gundy Not in Trouble….restructuring

I think tomorrow's meeting covers one or more of the following:
- Approving buyouts for assistants to be fired.
- Discussing salary ranges for potential coordinators.
- Restructuring Gundy's contract.

If Gundy is not the coach following that meeting, I will be very surprised. However, someone stated this morning on RA's show that the head of the BOR is not a big fan of Gundy, so there is that.
I agree with this. I believe this is more about the coordinators, pay ranges, what is acceptable hires and what is not (Gannon), and probably level setting who is in control and Mike’s pay structure. If Gundy were being let go, I don’t think we’d have seen yesterday the coordinators being let go. Also, just because Harrell doesn’t like Gundy and is Chairman doesn’t mean he can convince majority of others.

Gundy deserves the opportunity to right the ship. First step was yesterday’s announcements of the coordinators. Now. if Gundy was not on board or resistant to firing those coordinators then the conversation changes. Only Chad would know that though.

I suppose Gundy could agree to retire if they will approve a separation package for him. But, that doesn't really align with having already fired the coordinators.

I used to have some dealings with Jimmy Harrel. He has been a Regent for a long time and we had some discussions about OSU athletics. In addition to not liking Gundy, Josh H., and Dr. Shrum, he didn't like Les Miles, Bob Simmons, Pat Jones, Tom Holiday, or Eddie Sutton.

Perhaps a list of who he did like would make for less strenuous reading.

Praytell, do you think the man likes his own mother?

So, guy who likes to be in charge doesn't mix well with others who like to be in charge? Crazy.

100%. I've long been a guy that is frustrated with Gundy not trying in recruiting and falling just short as a result. That being said, he's done significant things for the university. You let a man fix the mess he's made. That includes hiring quality coordinators, emphasizing recruiting, and acknowledging where he's made shortfalls in the past. If he refuses, then you let him go, but you at least let him try to fix it.

Did he call your loan? One of the few banks in Western Ok I never had dealings with.

now who in hell couldnt like Like Pat jones he is after all a wizard of low scoring offenses . now that shocks me about Les Miles and Eddie Sutton . but after the season we just had Bob Simmons always had better pass rush and good linebackers and Les had good Running backs and cbs/

They are extremely professional, I’ve known Jimmy and his family for a long time and he’s orange to the bone
Meh...Jimmy was never much of a conversationalist. Knew a lot of the Harrels also but, I went with my loan officer when he left BOWO. If you want an orange to the bone banker out there the Interbank guy has his name on the performing arts center amoung his many gifts to OSU.

We use both

Gundy has earned the chance to turn things around. What he hasn't earned is the amount of money OSU is paying him. I'd like to see a Gundy with a burning desire to go out on top instead of being known for leaving a dumpster fire. Whether he still has that in him is yet to be seen.

I don't think we'll see a pay cut, but hopefully his contract is renegotiated to stop auto renewing and stop auto increasing every year at the very least. These seem like obvious necessities to me. Give the man a timeline and let's see if his ego can drive him to excel or continue to make him think he walks on water.

I think he ieither agrees or quits. I don’t think he will be fired. He seems like rhe type who might cut off his nose to spite his face.
