Funny Political Memes

No. Just no.

His estate should sue. Course he was a backwoods Florida guy so no telling what his family thinks about Trump.
Don’t be dissing Tom Petty. He grew up in Gainesville, which is hardly backwater. He took exception to G Dub using one of his songs, and his family took exception to Trump trying to use the same song. He was honored when Obama used the same song. “I Won’t Back Down” was the song in question. He didn’t wear his politics on his sleeve and kept it out of his songwriting for the most part, but he was definitely left of center.

I humbly apologize to the memory of Tom Petty. Love his music (The Waiting is one of my favorite underrated songs) but never saw him as someone who worried much about politics. That being said he passed before a bunch of the crazy happened so it's understandable that someone 10 years ago wouldn't feel the need to be as vocal as they would today.

No sweat. TP is the GOAT in my book. I have pretty much everything he has done on vinyl and CD. Saw him many times in concert, including sitting second row on the floor for his 40th anniversary tour, which turned out to be his final one. Tom Petty Radio is my go-to channel on SiriusXM.

Saw Mike Campbell (Heartbreakers guitarist and TP’s lifelong music collaborator) and the Dirty Knobs in Arkansas two years ago. They have three albums and do a lot of TP covers. They have a song called “F#&k That Guy”, which Mike Campbell introduced saying, “This one’s for you Donald”.

My cover band in Ohio did several Tom Petty songs. I've played "Learning to Fly" more times than I can count. Mike Campbell is an awesome guitar player. He replaced Lindsay Buckingham after the last time LB quit Fleetwood Mac. Campbell is an awesome guitar player, but he isn't Lindsay Buckingham.
